This organization is a real asset to McHenry and should be given the moral and financial aid of our citizens. A large number of auto tourists passed through and stopped in this city last Sunday. The McHenry park for the first time this season, was inhabited during the noon hour by tourits who stopped to eat lunch. Mrs. John Hickey of Chicago, whorecently purchased the lot at the corner of Greeh and Broad Sts., has had the small cottage thereon greatly enlarged and improved and will occupy the place during the coming summer. She will probably erect a modern home on the corner some time in the future. Lay who was a candidate for,, alderman received 51 votes, being defeated by only one vote. Charles Freund received 63 votes to defeat Arthur J. Oxotby. who received 31 for the office of village clerk. Mayor Frank J. Wagner received a complimentary vote of 71, having no opposition and Bryon L. Orvis was re-elected police magistrate without opposition.
