The Cossack peas­ antry have treated cases in this fashion from time immemorial, and Dr. Pash- koff, a Russian physician who has been studying the treatment, recently said in an interview in a Russian medical jour­ nal: "I strongly recommend the treating of severe cuts and wounds with ashes.
