Blake, eldest daughter of Nick and Margaret Blake was horn at Stacyville, IowpL, October 10, 1876 and died at 8pring Grove, Thursday August 80, 1946 at the age of 09 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was married to Michael Huff November 28, 1899. Immediately after the ceremony they moved to the Huff Estate near Richmond. Later he was employed with the Wieland Dairy Co* and they mad* their home at Sprinjg Grove until 1921. In 1924 they moved to Chicago until 1988 when, because of Mr. Huff's ill health, they 'returned to Spring Grove for permanent reaidence. Her death came quite unexpectedly. She passed away after a slight stroke from which she never rallied, dying about twentyfour hours after tne attack. Her husband and children were at her side when death came. Sevan children were born to Mr. Mid Mrs. Huff, six of whom Survive: Arthur, Harold, Francis and Katherine of Chicago and Mrs. Margaret Sanbom of Spring Grove. A son, Harvey died July 81, 1906. Besides her children, her loving husband, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Siedschlag of Richmond and Mrs. Margaret Rauen of Kenosha, Wis., and thirteen grandchildren also survive* Her passing will be a great loss to her many friends. The entire community extends to the husband and family their heartfelt sympathy. Mrs. Huff was a woman of sterling character, who believes firmly in the golden rule, and always had a good word for her neighbors. Funeral services were held September 3, 1945 at St. Peter's Church, with Rev. John Daleiden offifciating. There was a large attendance to pay their last respects. Pall, bearers were Anton- May, Charles Freund, Paul Weber, Frank May, J. J. Schmidt and Joseph Brown. Internment was at St. Peter's cemetery. . Among those from here who attended the club meeting at Mrs. Paul Lewis' home in Fox Lake on Thursday of last week were Mrs. Ray May, Mrs. Edward May, Mrs. L. L. Kagan, Mrs. Charles Freund and Mrs. George W. May. An afternoon at cards was enjoyed and prizes went to Mrs. Charles Freund, Mrs. Edward May, Mrs. L. L. Kagan and Mrs. Arthur Klein. Refreshments were served. Billy Kattner is able to be up and around with the aid of crutches. Billy had the misfortune of breaking his leg several weeks ago. ' There was a large crowd at the Firemen's Carnival held on Saturday night, September 1. The affair was. a huge success and the Firemen wish to thank all who helped make this possible. A picnic was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George W. May on Labor -Day. Those who made up this happy gathering were Mrs. Eva Weber, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith and children, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wfeber and family of Johnsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weber, son Peter, daughter Nancy, Barbara and Joan Freund of McHenry and the Charles Freund family and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Weber, daughter Judy. Mr. and Mrs. John F. Panknin and son, Ed J. Panknin, and wife of Wilmette visited the sister of Mrs. Panknin at San Pierro, Ind. They also attended along with many friends and relatives, a Confirmation Reunion at St. John's Church in Madaryvflle, Ind.
