W. Hixson Co., publishers- of Rockford, , Illinois, would beg leave to report that they met at the Court House at the CU'y of Woodstock on April it', 1945 and wished to report that the 5u atjases were del^vored to McHenry County by the said 'W? \V. Hixon Co. on March :•!•'. 194S. On April 10, 1H45 a communication was received from A. W. Clark, a former employe of the W. W. Hixson Co. requesting that payment for said atlases to be made' to the W. W. Hixson Co. and A. W. Clark, the original of said communication being attached hereto and being a part of this report. Your Committees instructed the County Clerk to take said matter up with the State's Attorney of McHenry County. It was Mr. Carroll's opinion that the County should have before payment is made a statement from the said W. We would advise the next Road and Bridge Committee to consider giving the road a seal coat or light re-surfacing as soon as favorable weather comes. We ordered several tumble down guard rails replaced and decided to crush what gravel is available at the Zeiss Pit where the crusher is now set, as the pit is to be closed. Nearby roads are be trimmed tip with a grader before placing ol grave I. We recommend that about 600 feet of the Ba» Road which is built on peat, be raised with gravel about 1 ft. 3 inches. W<s decided to make the usual recommendations concerning the handling of the County Highway work as follows: At the meetings of fthis Board of Supervisors the Koad and Bridge Committee shall make an estimate of the amount of unds, within the tax levy and receipts for that purpose, needed to carry on the building and maintenance of the roads for which the Countyis responsible from time to time, lf said estimate Is approved by this Board It shall be considered as a limit ori the authorised expenditures of the County road and bridge committee, over \*{hicn satd limit said committee shall not step.
