Games were played, after which a lunch, consisting1 of two lovely birthday cakes, ice cream and coffee, was served. The guest of honor was the recipient of a variety, of beautiful gifts. Invited guests were Mrs. Ann Wagner, Mrs. Fred Schroder, Mrs. Dean Rothermel, Mrs. Martha Rothemel, Mrs. Mary Hobba, Mrs. Jo Roe- Grove last -Sunday, honoring Miss Shirley Freund of McHenry, a bride-to-be. Hostesses were Irene Thennes, Darlene Schaefer, Mrs. Leo Schaefer, Mrs. John Schaefer .and Mrs. Charles Martin. Schaefer and Mrs. Martin StoffeL A delicious lunch was served at the close of the afternoon, * * * Sunshine Giria Hold Meeting The Ringwood Sunshine Girls held their last meeting at the home of LuAnn Bauer on Friday evening, June 14. It was called to order by the president, Miss Bauer, followed by pledges to the American and the 4-H flags. Various methods of raising money for different activities were discussed, along with the treasurer's report. A special demonstration was given, after which stitching on paper was judged by the leaders. Muriel Butler showed different seams which she had made and their use. Rev. father Eugene Baumhofer officiated at the nuptial service. The church altars were beautifully decorated for the occasion with bouquets of flowers. During the service, Earl Conway offered several vocal selections. The charming bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of white satin, trimmed with aoint d'esprit lace ana lace inserts. Her long veil was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of white gardenias and stephanotis. Her three attendants were Mrs. Rita Maaon of McHenry, her sister, who served as maton of honor; Miss Morraine Salzman of Woodstock, sister of tin groom, and Miss Mary Lou Freund of Crystal Lake, cousin of the bride, who acted as bridesmaids. All three attendants were gowned in petal pink marqiusette over rayon taffeta and wore veiled headpieces. Their bouqufts were of carnations. Robert Salsman, cousin of the groom, served as beat man. Ushers were Peter Weingart, brother of the bride, and James Salzman, brother of the groom. Other attendants were Walter Silliman and "Bud" Sohst. Mrs. Weingart chose a dress of aqua crepe, with which she wore navy accessories. Mrs. Salzman wore navy blue sheer with poudre blue accessories. Both wore corsages of pink talisman roeee. After the nuptial, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents for the immediate families. In the evening a reception was held at St. Mary'«-St. Patrick's school hall, whewe a supper served to 100 guests. The hall attractively decorated for Che sion with flowers and pink and white streamers. The bride's table was eon tared with a three-tiered wedding cake. The couple have hrrived home after a honeymoon trip into northern Wisconsin Mid are now living with the bride's parents. The new Mrs. Salzman is a graduate of the local high school and has been, employed in Chicago with'the General J-Ray corporation. The groom, a graduate of St Mary's high school in Woodstock, ia employ ed'slqr that city in the light and water department." Out of town guests attending the wedding were T/Sgt. Nye are now making their home in Harvard, where they recently purchased a house. The Harold Steffan family has moved from Elgin into the Nye apartment located above the jewelry store in West McHenry.
