Schless point out in the American Journal of Diseases of Children, published by the American Medical association. They report five cases of poisoning from overdoses of aspirin. Three patients were children, and there were two deaths in the series. The report of investmnts in the Series "E" savings bonds, Issued from Chicago by Arnold J. Ratten of McHenry, state director, U. S. Treasury Savings Bands division for Illinois, shows $89,634 invested in this type Bond in McHenry county in November, compared With $88,521 in the preceding month, October, and $150,158 in November, 1948. Total investments in the Series "E" bond for Ilinois for the eleven months of this year were $352,- 211,046, compared with $348,991,- *005 in the same type bonds in the first eleven months of 1948. Volunteer chairman of the U.S. Savings Bonds committee in this county is Harold J. Bacon, Crystal Lake. State Director Ranen anticipates a Substantial investment in Series "E" bonds throughout Illinois in January, when about 900,000 veterans of World War II begin receiving dividends on their National Service life insurance. Total payments are estimated at about $157,500,000 in Illinois, authorities say. Veterans are being urged to invest part of their Individual dividends In savings bonds.
