"Hick Nulle, now treasurer of McHenry county, twice sheriff of McHenry county, and for many years prior to these county offices the chief of police of Marengo, stated that he was a candidate for the Re publican nomination for coupty sheriff in the primaries to be held April 11 of this year. Mr. Nulle is well known. He has handled the treasurer's duties since 1946, when he was elected to the'office he now holds, one of the most difficult jobs to be held by a public official--that of handling of tax mo7iie8. Prior to that time, his public and political service was recognized in various ways. Mr. Nulle was sheriff of McHenry county from 19:14 till 1938; and then from 1942 until 1946. He was chief of police at Marengo from 1922 until 1934. He left the Marengo police force to serve his first term as county sheriff and before his second term as county sheriff, Mr. Nulle served as Marengo police head from May 19-u. until he took over the office of sheriff again at Woodstock in December 1942. In announcing his candidacy for the nomination of county sheriff. Mr. Nulle said that he felt he had most to offer the voters in iiis knowledge of law enforcement in th'.' county, and the feeling he was sure all had that the law would be enforced with equal justice ander his jurisdiction as sheriff. === WEEKLY CROSSWORD PU HUMORIST UAvMi 1711--urt ot 19 WlagUk* part n n umifs ataf! nvtm 99 Vagatablas hiomm CAfar.) 19 Paid notk* 91 Met «Mt 99Utttt laaeo M Aspersion 9tOMnMttn nTnm (abbr.)
