Their marriage was blessed with two sons and one daughter. Wilbert, Jr., eldest of the trio, is at present in training for a state tamper in Springfield; William is employed in the freight claim de p^rtment of the North Western railroad, while their lovely daughter, Betty, joined the ranks of Mc H«nry's cheerful "hello" girls. Mr. Hecht has just recently re turned to his job at' the Auto-Lite plant after recovering from injuries sustained In an auto accident. Like her civic minded spouse, 10 is a member of McHenry Post Jl, American Legion, Mrs. Hecht, too, has made'notable service contributions to that organization's woman's auxiliary, being a past president of Eaton Priddy post 111 of Chicago, later tra'nsfering her activities to the McHenry group. After a dinner which was enjoyed by the immediate family and relatives, the Hecht's held an open house for their many friends and (|&ighbors at McCullom Lake. fti. Minnie Green Named Historian of District The eleventh district of the American Legion Auxiliary held its spring convention at Glen Ellen Sunday afternoon, June 11. The following attended from McHenry: Minnie Green, Agnes Buch, Pean nette Vaitce, Alice Barbian, Hen- «tta Vycital and Pearl Nerstad nnie Green served as color guard,, Agnes Buch helped With registrations and Alice Barbian played the piano for the marches and entertained at intermission. At this convention, Minnie Green was nominated and elected to fill the position of historian for the coming year. The department president, Mrs. Gene Brown, spok to the assembly, as did other high 4fciking officers in the organization. The work of the various committees was totaled and report ed by chairmen and there were awards given to be taken back to various towns for such things as essay contests and poster con tests. The Legion also held its conven tion at this time and there was i joint social hour following the reetlngs at the Glen Ellyn post fflib house. Christian Mothers Plan Annual Picnic The Christian Mothers and Altar society held a meeting In St Mary's-St. Patrick's hall last Friday evening, at which tfm<e plans were made' for the annual picnic on June 22. A social hour followed the business meeting. Winners MP cards were Mary Buckey in bridge, Clara Adams in five hundred, Catherine Bauer, Clara Stilling and Mayme Buss in pinochle. Mrs. Nick M. Justen and her comndttee served lunch. MRS. ALMA THOMAS -- Bertilla Freud Is Installed In Offk» .7 The following slat##* were Installed In the Catholic Daughters of America recently at their regular meeting hall: Grandregent, Bertilla Freund; vice-regent, Mary Agnes Boetsch; lecturer, Agnes Buch; prophetess, Helen Weber; monitor, Mildred Klnsala; financial secretary, Laura Weber; treasurer, Annamae Vogt; historian. Elsie Wlnkel; sentinel, Eleanor Strake; organist, Marie Yegge; trustees, Marie Vales and Genevieve Knox. Ethel Ronan of Elgin, district deputy was present to perform the ceremonies. She was assisted by Bertha Jensen. A pot-luck supper was served previous to the meeting, with Miss Bertilla Freund as chairman. Spring flowers were used -to decorate the tables. Following the meeting cardA were played. First prize in auction bridge went to Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson and Mrs. Elsie Winkel for contract bridge. Miss Eleanor Kinsala won second prize. Pinochle winners in order were Mrs. Ann Rodenkirk, Mrs. George Bohr, Mrs. Bobby Way, Mrs. Irene Guffy and Miss Eva Stirling. Grand-Regent Mrs. Leroy Mason of the Elgin court attended the meeting with the Misses Margaret }, and Loretta Foley, sisters of Mrs Boetsch. Plans for the summer include the Day of Recollection, which will be held at St. Mary's church on Thursday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special mass will be read for members at 8 o'clock. Any interested lady Is welcome to attend the talks whloh will be given by a Jesuit priest. The next meeting will be a spontaneous brunch to be held at the home of Mrs. Elbert Buch. There will be a prize for the most unique morning attire. Troop No. 3 were entertained by two hostess members, Mary Ann Granger and Susan Saylor, recently. They served cup-cakes and ice cream. Girls of Troop 4 are all graduated from the eighth grade and are now senior Girl Scouts. A graduation party will soon be held for them at the home of their leader, Mrs. J. Roasch. Next week Troop 4 will spend a day at Brookfield Park. A total number of seventy-six Girl Scouts paraded in the Memorial Day services.
