This is a non-profit venture which Includes both Catholics and non-Catholics and has been organised to provide entertainment for everyone. The Christ the King Parents association is being organised and will have their first regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept.02, at 8:30 p.m. The club is open to everyone who is interested in building a Catholic school in Wonder Lake. Until, such time as a school can be built, a school has has been purchased to transport the children to St Mariy's-St. Patrick's school in McHenry. The bus will be driven by Ed. Waldy and will start picking ap the children on Wednesday morning, Sept 6. They came from Milwaukee, Wis., Hobart, Ind., Chicago and other places. Yes, even a visitor from London England, Miss Beach, a sister to Mrs. Agnes James of Wonder Lake, honored us with her presence. In the afternoon and evening we had a good representation at the Youth Conference at Williams Bay Bible Camp, where great audiences gathered to hp8* prominnent speakers such as. Missionary Wllbert .Norton of. the Belgian Congo and Pastor^ Arley Bragg of Minneapolis, Minn. An excellent musical program was also presented.. ^ ; Talking It Over Wat* most of us vacations are over, and with a deep sigh, it's back to the old grind again for another year. Yet, the memory lingers on--the memory of thrills, of fun and of peaceful, quiet relaxation seemingly fills our minds with fond recollections. During th^r months of July and August, McHenry council held only two meetings, whil,e the members in' a general spirit of light-heartedness also eased on some of the vital activities which are so very necessary to fraternalism and personal wefare. We must not live in the past, but we can review the accomplishments we made the past few years, progress notably in threes of our many activities, namely-- retreats, attendance at family communions, with ever increasing numbers, and attendance at wakes to honor the memory of some brother. It is the fond hope 4f your GK and the officers that mention at this time of these three will bring about even greater cooperation and more salutory results as we itegin action after the summer lull. Bowling With the summer season drawing to a close, the activities for the fall are beginning to sprout. One of the fall and winter activities is bowling, and if you are interested in joining the keglers this fall it would be advisable that you contact Brother Eugene Frost at our next meeting for your reservation on the team. Everyone has some Idea of what the council should acconfeplish for the coming year; don't let these ideas die unexpressed.
