What with Christmas decorations going up all over the Museum as part of the "Christmas Around the Hybrid" programs there, the doll house had been neglected. The people in charge of decorations had apparently had their minds on bigger things, such aa the 20-foot {*fees surrounding the Museum's central court and, as a result, the Doll House residents were in a state human beings would describe aa a "dither." The Sleeping Befuty Princess had to stop spinniqg golden angel hair to look for Prince Charming and demand that he go right out into the woods to get a suitable Christmas tree for the magic garden. But the Prince had already ™ft on a mistletoe hunting trip. Snow White and her seven dwarf friends weft busy making Christmas decorations and besides couldn't expect to carry the large tret back that was needed. 4 A hurried trip to the castle's kitchen disclosed that Hansel and Gretel were out for tea with the wicked witch and the only ones around were the three blind mice ftasting their "tales, before the earth and of course, anybody knew they counldn't find anything if it was in front of their whiskers. King Arthur and his knights were out hunting a wild boar for th4 Christmas dinner and the Three Billy Goats Gruff were trolling somewhere, they said. ....Upstairs ^itd down ran Wee Willie Winkie polishing the candlesticks and chandeliers and the Sjfrincess couldn't send such a small boy out in the cold woods with only a nightgown to wear. Hans Brinker, of course was out ice skating, Jack the Giant Killer had sprained an ankle on his last trip and it seemed that nowhere in the castle was anyone to be found who could go out to locate a auitable Christmas tree. The Princess was beside herself, ^n desperation she appealed to Aladdin but when he rubbed his magic lamp and the Genii appeared it was immediately apparent that he couldn't go out on such an expedition. He had such a bad cold that when he sneezed all the castle windows rattled and the lights were blown out. At last, the Princess sank wearily into a silver chaisse lounge and twisting her gold filingree Ainlrerchief into knots, broke into tears. It looked ai though there would be ^MAtristmag In the doll house. * ' Just then Cinderella appeared from behind the huge fireplace r.HWSTBI FUBNITOBE CO. where she had been dusting and mggested that she call her (airy godmother for help. When the fairy godmother heard the sad story she said, "Now girls, no more tears. I went to school with the Christmas fairy, as a matter of fact, we were sorority Siatera and 111 feat bet ah* help." f , In a4 twinkle, the Christmas fairy appeared and said, "Leave it to me girls, just show me where to put it." So they all went into the garden and when the Christmas fairy saw the weeping willow by the fountain, shedding real crocodilelike tear8. she said, "Now. now let's have no more of that. Christmas ia a time for laughter and gaity." So she waved her magic wand and lo and behold the weeping willow was transformed into a huge Christmas tree, the largest they had ever seen; so tall it reached above the second floor balcony of the castle. And the real crocodile-like tears were turned into real little lights that glowed happily. An then from nowhere at all it seemed all the litUe leprechauns and elves and pixies appeared and while the banshees gleefully chortled they trimmed the tree with their black magic, even to the gleaming star on the tree-top. When everything was finished, the Wizard of O® leaned over from the top balcony and whispered the magic words and soft fluorescent snow sprinkled from the sky to give the tree itB final magical splendour. And if you don't believe in the Christmas fairy's powers, drop In to the Museum anytime between now and New Year's day and there in the castle's garden you can aee it for yourself. rigeiureh. Si. We can't foretell the future--but we can tell you this right now: You'U look a long way before you'll find a car that offers as much for die money as : ou can get in a 1950 Buick. Close to half a million, of these cars have been built and sold this year. Close to half a million people have checked their features and prices against the field --and decided they'd better buy Buick. As to prices--they start down below some sixes. And whether you price the SPECIAL, the SUPER or the ROADMASTEK, you'll find, on a cents-per-pound basis, that few other cars can touch them for value. And this is for sure! When it comes to performance --ride --the way ihey handle and hold the road--and thrifty use of fuel an^ oil--Buicks have never been finer. That's another way of saying that coil fprings on all four wheels -- 0ynaflow*-- torque-tube drive --and Buick's high. Compression, high-economy Fireball power produce an out-of-this-world combination. So if you want your dollars to do extm duty--the time to act Is now. Look at the price tags--look at the featufli' -- sample the power and thrill that you get for your money--and you'll know what we mean. i *DtrnmJ1ou Drr m is MmM mi Boadmastkk. «*tro coat on Sum tmd SMCUX IMIC «t t)M W Sir SW50JM I 8B4® 1950 Wtb noon •» ttuick SrKIAl 6 FJW Mngtr 4-Joor • with d* lu*« i"1"" 1>|, t k. :*M " ' - ^ vr *•?
