Where during a parade wh throngs- of people were cheering in the streets, a beauty queen remembered a little friend who lived on the second floor of a building, and took time to wave. Where Ross Siragosa chose to .uanufacture some of his Admiral ,'adiofl and televisions. His factory is democracy itself. For the problems of one employee become the problems of all. They pitch in and lend a hand. Where the theatre owner is Joshingly referred to as the town's Number 1 "baby-sitter", because of the tremendous number of rhildftn that patronise his theatre on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Where neighbors are friendly and helpful, but never "nosey" or curious. If this is your home town.. you should be proud. Wish it were mine! LITTLE WARRIORS WIN, BIG WARRIORS LOSE AT L. The McHenry Junior Varsity added a bit of Cheer to the picture by winning a close gaine. 34 to 30. Hebron Looms Up As Team To Beat For Top Honors The 30th annual McHenry ()BW . •ty Basketball Tournament will be played in McHenry's new gymnasium, starting Saturday night of this week Bight county teams are entered and six of them will see action Saturday night. At 6:30 Marengo and Richmond will play the first game of the tournament. At 7:46 Harvard meets St. Mary's. The third game will start at 9 o'clock with Crystal Lake and McHenry answering the bell. All eyes are on the strong Hebron five as the tournament approaches. The favorites will face Woodstock in the second giu*e Monday evening. Hebron drew attention with an early season win over Dundee and the record of the team would indicate that it will take a lot of playing to beat them. Max Brady's clasfty five from Crystal Lake swamped Hebron last year in the finals at Richmond. This won't be the same team representing Crystal Lake, but fans will be watching close to see how far Brady has been able to bring his squad along the victory path. Another team to watch will be the Woodstock Bine Streaks. Athletics at the county seat are On the upgrade and the Streaks will be out on that floor with eyes on the crown. Local Fans Hopeful Just how far the home club can go in the tournament is hard to figure. There are many ifs on a new team and basketballs have been known to take crazy spins around a hoop. The Warriors have the advantage of playing on their home floor. Count a few points there. Many loyal McHenry fans *111 be hootin' hollerin' and hopm. It has been announced that the officials on the floor will be Carl Wolfinbarger of Antioch and Harry F. Pierce of Batavia. Ralph Kelley will be the official scorer and Elliot Wheeland the official timer. Coach McCracken, with the cooperation of all at MCHS, will have everything in readiness tH handle this popular tournament in top fashion. Pratt Tree Planting Ttma Fall or spring i* a good time to plant fruit trees. What to plant is no problem, just think of the fruits you like bqst. A nursery catalogue from any reliable nurseryman, or consultation with your nurseryman should help you to come up with a home fruit garden plan that i will answer all your needs. Variety is a blessing in fruits, if you want to satisfy all your taste de> sires. Fresh fruits from your home garden likewise supply t more and healthy vitamins and natural sugar for the growing family. From the looks of things, today, the home fruit garden will increase in value as time goes on, and fruit trees In a few years may be far less tiful than they are now.
