Joe Albright, an exchange student from Germany, gave a talk. Patty Hogan tap danced and movies were shown. Mrs. Viola Low entertained her "500" club Friday. A 1 o'clock dessert luncheon was served. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Pete Sebastian and Mrs. Ben Walkington. The W.S.C.S. held itsfemeeting at the home of Mrs. John Hogan Thursday. A pot-luck dinner was held at noon. The usual business meeting was held. Plans were made for the luncheon io oe held the second Tuesday of the month fir the employees of Edwal Labratories. Mrs. Clara Cristy gave the lesson on ^'Proclaim the good news." Mrs. Viola Low read a letter that her daughter, Mrs. Walter Wilcox, received from a native of southern Africa. The next meeting will be at the,. home of Mrs. P. N. Muszy. Mrs. Gordon Fossum and Mrs. Walter Low entertained at a "Toy and gadget" party at the home of Mrs. Fossum. Monday evening. The Evening W.S.C.S. and their husbands gave a housewarming for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith at their new home at Wonder Lake. Mrs. Jack Lenard and children of Lake Geneva spent the Weekend iif the Fred Wiedriich, Jr., home. Mrs. Clara Bruce and Clarence Brown of Wayne City and Mrs. Janie Wood of Keenes, 111 spent Tuesday night and Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bruce and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Kenneth of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seegert of McHenry spent Tuesday evening in the George Shepard home. Joseph McCannon of Chula Vista, Calif., came Tuesday, called by the death of his brother, Wm, McCannon. The Junior Youth Fellowship group met in the church hall Friday evening for their November meeting. Mrs. Mildred Munshaw of Elgin spent Monday with her cousin, Mrs. Wm. McCannon. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bruce, Mrs. Clara Bruce and Clarence Brown of Wayne City and Mrs. Janie Wood of Keenes, 111., were sapper guests of relatives in Chicago Wednesday evening. Mrs. Paul Walkington and Mrs. Walter Low visited Mrs. Roy Neal at the Woodstock hospital Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Lusk of Round Lake were visitors in the ~Ben Walkington home Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Georgia Thomas and son, Loren, of Woodstock and Mrs. Nick Young of McHenry were visitors in the George Shepard tome Monday afternoon. Mm. "SANTA CLAUS TICKETS" Children's "Santa Claus Tickets", a fifteen-cent round trip* fare from any suburban station of the Chicago and North Western Railway , company to downtown Chicago, will be offered by the railway on the next five Saturdays before Christmas. The special rate tickets will be sold only in pailroad stations and not on trains. McCullom Lake News Linda Betta Neighbors and friends were glad to hear that Frank Poledna escaped serious injury when his car overturned in an accident about a week and a half ago. Frank sustained a broken rib and a nasty bump on the head, but is now back to v/ork and feeling fine. We were very happy to hear that on Nov. 8, Leith Tjernberg and Eugene Honning announced their engagement in Chicago. Leith, the lovely bride-to-be, and her fiance are planning to be married in May. Many of you folks know Leith and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Tjernberg, who own the Stugan cottage here at McCullom Lake, and have spent * many summers here. , May we extend here and now our congratulations and best wishes to Leith and Eugene for their future happiness together. daily lives we so easily forget the many things we should have thanked Him for! .
