Thursday, DecemWr 11, UKEMOOR & LILYMOQE tiii (By Kitty Wojtas) * «MMIMUWimilUWttllllllllllUH»H'mHHHH>nHIHM MlimimimiinBlimtWg I any fault to be found, we can g J only blame ourselves. So I'd like SI to change the slogan "Write £; your Congressman" to "Write 11 your Trustees and let them 1 know how you feel about the village affairs". The holiday season is fast approaching and many of the local |»me.s are beginning to decorate their outdoor trees and house fronts, to help the passer-by share in the spirit of the season. The community Christmas tree, lot the business section of our village, helps express the Christmas greetings to all from the- ,business men and the fire de partment.- morning, Dec. 21. j We 'noticed many people ftfom In the evening of Dec. 21,' our community attending the members of the church will meet program given by the McHenry at the church at 7:30 p.m. to go ; choral group last Sunday night, Chi istmas caroling in the neigh- j and I'm sure their opinion was boihood and around McHenry. Aj the same as mine: It was cermessage from Pastor Liberty; tainly a wonderful show. The And now the news we promised the kiddies. Santa is going to arrive in Laktmoor on , Saturday, Doc. 13, and he will be at .*• the Lakemoor hardware store from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. He will have candy for all the good Children who bring along their parents, so be sure and come <n and tell him, what you want for ^Christmas. < \ And speaking of holidays, the school children will soon be having their Christmas vacation, and I would like to tell the parents the necessity of cautioning them about playing on the ice until it gets hard enough. On Monday of this week Mrs. Vi Vineer saw four boys out on the ice, near her home, and she called them back. Just as they were close to shore, (thank ^goodness) the ice gave way and all four boys fell in. They were all too young probably to realize the danger of their play, as tha yeUngcst was about 3 or 4 years old. In this example the only harm done was that their clothing got wet, tbut it could have been much more serious. reads as follows: "We will be looking for all of you at the service and especially someohe we have not seen for a 1/mg time, or perhaps someone e have never seen.---Maybe it you.--Won't you come to some of the Xnjas services?" \ Mrs. Booster has left for a trip which will take her through Indiana, Ohio and finally she will visit relatives in South Carolina. . .... * choral group can be very proud of a job very well done. CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS The society". 9ectj^h>'^^^;t^e» Chicago Tribune carried a picture, of Rhonda Stencil, whom many may have recognized as one of our summer .residents Miss Stencil and her escort were attending an R.O.T.C. military ball. Rhonda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stencil, who take an active interest in the community during their summer vacations here. Mrs. Charles Anchutz had to go into a Chicago hospital for more tests last week for an illness she has had for some time. We hope she will be feeling better soon. The junior church, which meets every Sunday during the morning worship service, will have a special Christmas program at the 11 o'clock service on Sunday We attended a village meeting two weeks ago, and since then I have been listening to many opinions from voters in our village. I wonder, when the affairs of the village are so important to all of us, why don't the voters let the officers they put into office know how they feel on various issues? These people are not born politicians, and none of us are able to do the smartest thing all of the time. But they have to make decisions that will benefit the greatest majority, and if the people living here don't let them know how they feel and what they want done, then they can only use their own judgement, and if there is Plenty of Christmas Cheer Here Toys to please every little boy and girl in town and plenty of cheer for you too. This makes the finished product mealy rather than soggy. Scrub skins well and grease before baking. Good Tea In making good tea, it should be prepared quickly. And be sure the water is boiling in order to bring out the flavor of the tea. Allow one teaspoon of tea for each cup of boiling water.
