WJUMHtS LOSE S9-S0 GAME TO CRYSTAL LAKE McHenry Scores 25 Points In Fourth Period Comeback A^ain the MCHS Warrior basketball team showed a slow first 'ialf and strong finish as they were beaten 59 to 50 by Crystal Lake cn our home floor last Friday night. A squint at the box score will 3how that the McHenry team scored only 25 ^points the first three quart«rs-/t|ien bounced, up w:th the same number in the fourth period. Coach Pulton started with Huemann, Aim, Davidson, Johnsen and Ford. They looked hot for a couple of minutes, then went into a decline. Huemann drew three fouls in rapid order and was yanked to save him from an early shower and loss to the team. That big Holt started to hit for the Lakers and kept right on hitting until he had a total of 20 points. Ron Ford, one of the leading 3corers in this part of the state, was perhaps guilty of not making enough shots in the first ualf. He scored 8 points in the first three quarters, then popped through 11 in the final sputt It way John Bolger and Stan Aim who combined in a pressing game that brought results n the final stages. But, again the team started to hit too late. With plenty of size and a fiery, little ball handler named £*»**»»»»» < Bowling Notes --.McHENRY RBCKEAHOV -- D. of A. -- A. Oaulke, 464; T. Through gifts of corn this Christmas time, Americans can and will have a large share in restoring hope for peace £o those caught behind the iron curtain, the refugees streaming into Western Germany, as many as a thousand a day, the 4 million refugees crowding into southern Korea and the homeless of Asia. We cannot , be Santa Claus, but we can be compassionate toward those who have gone through war's destruction. C.R.- O.P., the Christian Rural Overseas Program, offers a way to help. To date, the following township chairmen have accepted their appointments: Marefigo, pale Noe; Riley, Paul Fox; Seneca, Glen Jackson; Chemung, Arnt Anderson; Dorr, Dick Pilchard; Hartland, Charles Head; and Dunham, Claude Pages.
