The American Legion Basketball League, consisting of grammar school boys in this area, moved merrily along through another set of games at the high school last Saturday morning. Parents and others, who can find a little time, are stopping in to see a part of the program each week. Cheerleaders are dolled up and pepped up in urging whole program has caught fire In the first game, St, Patrick's high-scoring team rolled along to an easy 32-7 win over St. Mary's. The losers made only one free throw out of 13 chances, missing a chance to close the gap. In the battle for first place, Johnsburg nipped Burton's Bridge 21 to 20. Huemann got 7 of his 13 points in the last quarter to pull this one out of the fire. In the third game, the McHenry J.H.S. had their scoring well spread in a 21-6 win over Wonder Lake. It is evident that the league is not too well-balanced, but time will tike care of that part. The important part is that the league is striving to give the greatest number of boys possible a chance to participate ttl competitive sport. The Warriors stock rose sharply the past week as they beat warren and Grayslake. No game scheduled for next Tuesday, but Zion-Benton will ibe here Friday, February 6.
