Elaine Spu'ehr .was elected vicepresident, Fern Paetow, secretary; and Uldena Haught will again hold the purse strings. Jean Booster of Lakemoor and Dorothy McEachren of Wonder Lake are new directors. The topic for study on lotial agenda is local law enforcement. Seventy Attended Family Fan Night On Sunday, March 22, the Ringwood Home Bureau unit held a family fun night and potluck supper at the Ringwood Methodist church. There we're about seventy present, which included members, their families and guests, among which were the Rev. Darrel Sample and Mrs. Sample, Miss Irene Downey, the new Home Advisor for McHenry County and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Sears. Mrs. Sears, is Assistant Home Advisor for McHenry County. Mrs. John Hogan, „ fooas chairman, assisted by a committee . of four 4-H girls, served the din ner and Mrs. J. J. Neuharth also lent a helping hand. Mrs. Arthur Hoppe, recreation chairman, accompanied by Mrs. Joseph Waynne at the piano, led the group In singing "A Romance in Songs." There are certainly some wonderful men's voices in the community, judging by the fine singing they did. During the month of March, the McHenry county Home Bureau is having a drive for new members and Mrs. Roy Swanson and Mrs. Louis Belshaw presented a short skit pointing out the advantages of belonging to a Home Bureau unit. The highlight of the evening included the colored slides presented by Mrs. Dorothy McEachren of pictures she took during her recent trip through England, Holland and Belgium. Gausden, who has been hospitalized at Great Lakes since shortly after Christmas, is recovering at his home here. He will not return to (Juty for some time but during his stay at home will need to report to Great Lakes for check-ups periodically. Leonard T. Nelson, Indian Rid^e, Wonder Lake, was admitted to St. Mary's hospital. DeBalb, on Tuesday of last week, where he underwent laboratory and x-ray tests. Mr. Nelson had been quite ill at his home in Wonder Lake but is now able to be up and about. A P. T. A. scholarship meeting was held on March 20 at the office of County Superintendent ot Schools Tazewell, when it was announced that the $1,000 golden jubilee scholarship this year would be awarded to Rosemary Shaw of Zion-Benton township high school. She is a senior.
