Rosenstone, director of the state Department of Public Works and BuildingsT has filed an order with Secretary of State Ca:pentier establishing clearance changes for all bridges which may be constructed over the Fox River between Algonquin and the * Illinois-Wisconsin state line. The department chief said that the regulation, for the convenience of recreational navigation using the stream, increase^ minimum horizontal clearance between bridge piers to 100 feet and vertical clearance to fifteen feet above normal pool level. Previous requirements were and 11 feet respectively. * Representatives of numerous organizations in the Fox river valley urged, upward revision in the specifications ,at a public hearing called last month by the state Division of Waterways. The new span, which is included in the state's regular highway construction program, will replace with a modern $500,000 structure the present 38-year-old Burton's bridge between Crystal Lake and Wauconda.
