A very lovely stock shower was given last Tuesday evening, June 6, for Alice Becker by a few of her friends. About forty guests were present and Alice received some beautiful gifts for the com ing addition to the Becker family. A very nice 'late snack" was served and the tafole was decorated with flowers of various colors. Everyone enjoyed themselves also. • Larry lfhrhardt of Lakemoor suffered a mishap this past week when an electric drill that he and Norman Morrison were using went through his finger. , The wound required stitches but we are happy to report that' it is healing nicely. I regret that I should have to report this, but last week when Mr. Weggener cleaned our small beach and playground, he picked up enough glass, broken and otherwise, to fill a five gallon can! Please do not throw glass on the beach. Our children play there every day and could be cut quite seriously from it. If you June 28, 7:30 p.m„ at the Mc- Dermott buildings All members try to Attend. The Lakemoor Jets played ball against' the Brahma's last Sunday afternoon at the McHerry high school baseball diamond and the Jets won 8 to 0. That makes two wins and one loss for the Jets against the Brahma's. The Jets have booked another game for Sunday, June 28, 3 p.m. in McHenry against Bimbo's of Mc- Henry. Last Sunday's game was really a goob one. Try to get out to see the game* -- you'll really enjoy-yourself. The bake sale held last Saturday in Lakemoor, sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary to the fire department was a big success. Mrs. Hyatt, chairman, reports that $85.80 was realised from the sale and the auxiliary is well pleased. We would like to thank all the friends and neighbors who helped to make it such a success. The proceeds m taken away or better yet, take the empty bottles home with you. This matter is not to be taken lightly. If we expect to have a clean playground and beach for our community, we must learn to take care of it properly. Wo would like to thank the business men of Lakemoor for having our beach disced and raked. It really looks nice. The "Jungle Jim" outfit was delivered last week and will soon be put up for the children to play on. Mrs. Jenny Vallone of Lakemoor attended the graduation of her granddaughter, Arlene Vallone, in Chicago last Wednesday, June 10. A large family celebration took place at a restaurant and everyone had a good time. Mr. and, Mrs. Clackle McDermott of Lakemoor attended a convention in Chicago for a few days last week after which they left for Terre Haute, Ind., to. attend the graduation of their niece, Myrna Morrison, ' Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hatch and Mrs. Delia Rulien of Eau Claire, Wis., were guests at the Ted Beahler home in Lakemoor last Saturday. Mrs. Rulien is Mrs. Beahler's grandmother. The family had a nice get-tog* thr. Chuckie Bryan of Lakemoor celebrated his sixth birthday with a few friends last Saturday, June 13. Guests at the party were Janice and Joyce Wall, Lorry Beahler and Danny Dunn. Little Christina Hose of Lakemoor had a birthday party on Sunday with a few of her little friends attending. Christina was 6 years old. Doris and Phil Kibbe of Lakemoor will have a double celebration this week, along with Father's Day next Sunday. Doris will he one year older June 19, and they will celebrate their twelfth wedding anniversary June 21. Congratulations folks Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cynowa and family of Lakemoor drove up to Lake Geneva and then to Brodhead, Wis., last Saturday to visit Ray's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Domek, on their farm. The children really had themselves a wonderful time riding on the traptor, feeding the pigs, etc., while the rest of the family had a nice get-together/ Elsie reports that it was a day well spent. BUe Church High attendance for the first week of vacation Bible school was 113. This has been the best week of the four schools they've had. Hope the boys and girls will make a new record this coming week.
