Park turned out to be a 20 to 2 rout of the Johnsburg Tigers by the McHenry Shamrocks. The Tigers were meeting the ball in the first ? t*ro innings, but were unable to score. After that, "Sonny" Miller had runs tiftk work on and used perfect control to keep the batters from getting out of hand. He didn't walk a batter, struck out only "two men and»gave his defense a chance to function. A good throw by Bob Nolan, from right field to third, nipped the speedy Tom Huemann in the first for the third out. Hits by Fulton and Pierce were wasted in the second. The' game was really settled in the second ginning when the Shamrocks scored six runs, but weird . happenings followed to bring about the lopsided score. Allan Bockman started things with a single. Harry Stilling forced Bockman on a good pickup by Charlie Hiller. Nolan moved Stilling to third with a single and moved on to second on the throw-in. Roger Smith's hit scored both runners. Then came a hit by Bill Bolger, an error at third on John Bolger's hopper, a double by Gerry Molidor and a walk to Bob Knox. Big Inning The Shamrock fifth was the killer. As the scoring started to roll, Nolan's triple to right ended Klapperich's mound toil for the day. Howie Katz, a real good first baseman, then tried his hand at pitching. His control was anything but sharp. However, Johnsburg's defense fell apart completely. In the inning, there w^re 12 runs, 4 hits, 3 bases on balls, one tilt batsman and 7 errors. Johnsburg got three hits, singles by Katz and Fulton and a double by Hiller, to score two runs in the sixth. A few observations: Cliff Fulton had four hits in four trips for a perfect day. John Bolger played a bang-up game at shortstop. Bob Nolan got three hits, including a triple, and his arm j was strong on throws from' right field. Gerry MolidOr Wfcs another three-hit gent.
