Some just groan along the road, while others ride free-wheeling. A hero could become a bore, but a bore could not be classed a hero. Some people consider others' ideas colossal, when they coincide with their own. Pride without dignity is like being perched on a pedestal with an unsteady base. It pays to be a patient pedestrian, instead of paying to be a pedestrian patient. • ANONYMOUS When Illinois hunterrf and trappers take to the fields and woods for fall and winter activities they will be operating under regulations considerably modified and simplified by the 68th Genei al Assembly. The new game hunting license and one trapspecial license is necessary. The special licenses that used to be required for hunting foxes and tiapping beaver have been eliminated. Hunters will be allowed to "hunt foxes. under previsions of a hunting license and to trap foxes and beaver under a trapping license. Open dates for trapping beaver have been moved from December 1-15 up to February 1-15 inclusive. Trappers had complained -that beaver pelts were not yet *prime. during the December period. The hunting section of the new game code permits the use of open blinds for waterfowl shooting , in the Illinois and Mississippi rivers., Blinds must anchored and : stationary. In other waters of the state the regulations still provide that blinds must be within 150 feet of shore or of a line of vegetation. - Another change in the code cuts the dally take of rabbits to five a day, with ten allowed in possession. The old limits were were eight rabbits a day avid 16 ih possession. Groundhogs in the northern zone of Illinois are given protection under the new code. This change is expected to benefit the rabbits, as the declining 'groundhog population has deprived rabbits of' burrows fop hiding and nesting.
