My mother, sister and I enjoyed every minute of it. I 4#n't tiling we've seen as many jflftcea ^before in our lives. ' New York is a fabulous city, *ight and day. We arrived there at night time and there were so manyi lights and- people that it looked like day. We saw all the famous things in New York like the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Waldorf Astoria Hotel and many others. Also we visited the nite clubs mentioned in, the - Itinerary which were terrific. At the Rivera I met Peter Lind Hayes, saw Red Buttons arfd Milton Berle also. Then our Beiry Tour escort, who seemed to know many theatrical people, made arrangements for me to appear on Steve Allen's TV show (Vincent Lopez' show wa& not broadcast as there has been a radio strike in N.Y.) and I was happy to be Mr. Allen's guest, as he is one of my favorite TV stars. Washington was very interesting and beautiful. We. saw the Capitol Building, White House and Lincoln's Memorial. In Virginia we saw Arlington cemetery and Mt. Vernon, which were all very interesting. Again many thanks because without you I don't think I would ever have seen so much of the East and all the wonders that go along with it. The only thing is it was a shame you oovldn't have shared them. Sincerely, ,«•„ Va, op*,, men conduct local meetings and attend county meetings several times a . month. Fire Prevention Week, so dedicated by Presidential proclamation for the last thirty-four yearB, actually originated years before in the Middle West. Here, many communities annually conducted special "clean-up" campaigns. As a result of such activity there were fewer fires and soon communities began referling to their! "clean-up" day as Fire Prevention" Day. As the years went by most communities began observing Fire Prevention Day on Oct. 9, the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. It was President Wilson who issued the first Fire Prevention Week proclamation. MUSIN' AND MEANDERIN' Continued from Page 1 ture was hovering around #9 last Tuesday. Atty.
