"It's the young farmer who fights the wars and who is more concerned than others in what ^the future holds," Newberry said in addressing the annual Rural Youth conference of the Illinois Ag ricultural association at the Sherman hotel. "Young men and women who are active in Rural Youth programs are fortunate because they are a part of a farm organization that is working at solving not only the farmers' problems, but is concerned with the longrange future of agriculture and the nation," he said. "There ye three things farm people fear. They are war, de<- ptession and loss of freedom from within. The thing we should be most fearful of is the trend toward trading freedom ;or economic security. "This problem is not understood by many people," Newberry told the young farmers. "The danger lies in the gradualism of the loss of freedom. SALVATION ARMY WEEK National Salvation Army weeir will be observed throughout the Chicago area in the period of Nov. 29 to Dec. 6, with all of the famous organization's corps and institutions holding open house for the general public. The Salvation Army came to Chicago sixty-eight years ago when three officers from the East opened the first 'headquarters on Chicago avenue.
