Tie McHenry Warriors liv<$ up to their name all the way, but ran into a bigger bite than they could chew at Barrington Friday night in losing 63 to 44. Fans got an idea in the first quarter why the Barrington Brones are undefeated this season. They had too much size for the Warriors and that size mixed to perfection with speed and a neat pattern of play. The Wanton Fought Much of the credit of Ooach Fulton's boys is the fact that they never let up or let down, whichever way you call it when a team refuses to curl up against big odds. Barrington had a sharp one in that fellow Dewitz. He scored 35 points on 13 field goals and 9 free throws. He missed ohly one free throw all night and shoiwed disgust with himself before stepping up. to make his second try. As all eyes centered on the great performance by Dewitz, it was easy to overlook a most effective zone defense set up by his team. When the Warriors had to shoot from outside the zone, the Broncs had the size under the basket to control rebounds. The Warriors put on quite a dash in the third period that cooled off the opposition, but Vie lead had been established and the outcome never in doubt. B&TTtagtMl («•) Babb 6befst Folleth , ... A point made this week to clarify questions is that players need not be members of the Knights of Columbus. They must be members of the pariah for which they play. Another point is that there is no age limit. Another question has been settled by the tournament manager, Thomas F. Bolger. Tom says that children in grade school will be admitted free. High school students will be admitted for 25 cents. Adults can see thi entire tournament for one dollar or they will be admitted for 50 cents each session. The tournament «ras planned this year on a trial basis, but shows signs of becoming an annual event that is aure to apread out to include more teams in the future. It is impossible to secure a complete list of players at this time, but large squads are expected. Several former high school players are sure to get into action. Some are home from college for the holidays and rarin' for action. And you may be surprised to see some of the old timers suited up for a couple of turns up and down the floor.
