At a recent meeting of the Indian Ridge card group which met at the' home of Harriet Bfll,.< eight dollars was turned over to the building fund for the women's and children's wing to be built. Those in attendance were Mrs. Mary Ruggero, Mrs. Lois Matthews, Mrs. Frances Fitzgerald, Mrs. Elaine Spuehr, Mrs. Katy Dold, Mrs. Gladys Gustafson and Mrs. Peg Zandier. Mrs. John H. Nelson, a • new member of the auxiliary, has donated one dollar to the building fund and also has contributed some lovely out-grown children's clothes to the Gift and Thrift shop for re-sale. Mrs. Dorothy McEachren, chairman of the Wonder Lake unit, entertained the various groups who play cards and contribute to the auxiliary building fund. These card playing and sewing groups meet about once a month at the various homes and spend a pleasant social evening together and then contribute part of their winnings to the fund. Mrs. McEachren told of the projects undertaken by the units, how the money was allocated and how the individual units undertook to raise money. It was explained that as Wonder Lake was such a large unit both as to territory covered and in number of memberships, it would be difficult to get entire membership organized to undertake such money raising activities and therefore the small card playing groups were one of the best sources ~ of continued help and cooperation. It was further explained to those present that if more such small groups, from four to eight players, would organize it would not take long to contribute as much, if not mora, money than similar groups in the county -- and with much less work. The following groups have been organized for some time and if you would like to organize a similar, group won't you please get in toiich" with the unit chairman "or members of these groups? Mrs. Melvina. Knackstedt is leader of the Indian Ridge group; Mrs. Mary Ruggero is a leader in the Lookout Point group; Mrs. Velma Sinclair has been identified With, the Wonder Center group; Mrs. Ruth Woodward with the Wonder Woods group and Mrs. Marie Milbrandt •with the Wonder Center sewing group. Eaoh group can make up their own rules as to what and when to play and what to contribute. How about you Starting a group?
