Boy Scout Dinner ' Last Tuesday evening, the Boy Scouts held a pot-luck supper in St. Mary's chuich hall in McHenry. Those attending from Lakemoor were Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kibbe and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lorain Booster and family (M:. Booster serves on the Boy Scout committee), Mr. and Mis. Harold pbss and family, Mrs. Rita Erickson and son, Roy, Mrs. Muriel Vanasek and son, Jimmy, and lirs. F£>pe and family. At\ this dinner, Corkey Foss, Donald Kibbe and Jimmy Vanasek were made second class Scouts.. Miniature pins were presented to their mothers by the boys. ' ;t>onald Kibbe led the group of a$K>Ut 150 people , in Chiistmas carols and Kenneth Pope led the pledge of allegiance. A short skit by the different patrols was presented. 1 Auxiliary Meeting Next Wednesday evening at 8 p.m., there will be a meeting of the ladies auxiliary in the fire house. All members are asked to attend. The date of this meeting is Dec. 22. Christmas Party Last Wednesday evening, the Ladies' League held their annual Christmas dinner in the 120 Club. Grab bag gifts were exchanged and a very pleasant evening was had by all who attended. It was also voted at this meeting to hold a bake sale at the end of Januaiy. Further discussion of this will take place at the January meeting. Barbara and Carol will have a couple of weeks to catch up on all the news among the younger set. On Wednesday of last week, Helen Para and Marcella Foss attended a Christmas party in Aurora. Christmas weekend will find the Vachets j and Mrs. Estep in Palos Heights visiting Mrs. Vachet's niece, Mrs. Art Metz. In the November issue of the Illinois Municiple Review, Mr. McDermott's picture appears with other village presidents and mayors of other cities. The picture was taken at the annual convention in Springfield. Mr. and Mrs. Gilman have left our snowy land for the sunshine of Florida and will not return for a month, hoping the snow will he all over by then. (We hope so too.) BAPTISTA * RITES HELD DEC. 15 AT CONVENT CHAPEL Sister M. Baptista, member of the order of St. Francis for-sixtyeight years, died of, a heart ailment on Dec. 12 at St. Anthony's hospital, St. Louis, Mo. She was 84 years old. A hospital administrator for thirty-seven years, Sister Baptista retired eight years ago. She had served at hospitals at Miirphyboro „ ana Cape Girardeau, Mo., at Waterloo, Iowa, Milwaukee. Racinft and Appleton, Wis. She entered the conventyat tlie age of 16, her. surviving sister, Sister Johanna, age 89, having entered at the same time.
