Old Mr. has been a busy bird. Mr. and Mrs. Steve May welcomed a new a granddaughter to their family., on Saturday, Dec. 11. Their daughter, Mis. Ed (Joan) Buss, gave <birth to her third daughter at' the Woodstock hospital. The Buss family resides in the Country Club subdivision in JIcHenry. Hold Christinas Party The Blessed Virgin sodality hfeld their annual Christmas party 1$ the school hall last Tuesday evening. A delicious pot-luck dinner was served to about sixtyfive ladies. After dinner, the wonderful Sisters of our parish and Father Blitsch joined in the festivities with the ladies. While the Christmas carols were being sting by the group, Santa Claus Made his appearance. He distributed gifts to all present from a very large bag he carried on his back. Last, but far from least, he presented the Sisters witl}, their Christmas present. He and the ladies had quite a time pushing the beautiful cabinet sewing ma- Chine to where the Sisters were sitting. I might add the Sisters were really overjoyed by this gift of necessity. Alter an tne gifts were distributed, Santa made his departure while the ladies sang more Carols. The rest of the evening was spent in playing cards by the ladies of the sodality. Returns sroia Florida Mr. and Mrs. Joe Huemann and children have returned recently from their trip to Florida. Of course, they came home minus a few buttonfc, which popped off. when their daughter gave birth to a son while they were visiting them in Florida. Vera said . tjie mother and baby are doing just fine. Kangold was tne victim of an •' ?£uto accident some weeks back leased from the hospital this week and is at home whefo a friend is taking care of her, a#>. she is still unable to be up and about for a long period. Many of Mrs. Mangold's friends remembered her while she 'was in the hospital, for which I'm sure she is extremely grates- Hurry and get well, Eleanor.
