Ready to greet nearly half a million expected visitors will be some of the most sensational displays ever assembled under one roof. Leading the parade of 1955's* great automotive creations will be a number of stunning dream cars which are expected to set the pattern for. years of future production car models. In addition, eighteen makes of passenger cars, eight lines of trucks and fifty-four accessory, allied equipment and educational displays will be featured. Jerry H. Cizek, chairman of the executive show committee, announces that the official show opening will be preceded by a two-hour telecast preview which will be beamed to the entire midwest. Legion home as usual but the meeting was a very unusual' one. Ruth Mraschek, chairman, presented a long and interesting program. The American Legion auxiliary juniors sang carols, ' and Dorothea Miller played piano, while Janice Mikota played the clarinet. Their rendition of "White Christmas" was lovely. A group from th^ high school also sang Christmas carols. Dolly Meyer did her share to en* tertain, da did Vicky Diedrich. Kay Mikota and Debby Varese danced. A tumbling 'act by Barbara Seeber went over big. Carol Goffo danced and so did Cindy Varese and Jinny Kauss. Kitchy Meyer sang Christmas songs. The juniors -received gifts from Santa's bag; the grown-ups got theirs from a grab-bag. The members brought gifts to be sent to the disabled veterans.
