When the rescue squad siren goes off, please do not follow the rescue squad truck. This hinders the members following in their own cars to get to the scene of the accident as quickly as they should. I'm sure you wouldn't want your curiosity to be the cause of some person suffering any longer than necessary. So think twice when the siren goes off next time and give the squad a chance to get there first without any needless delay. A Day of Recollection was held for 'teen-agers at St. Peter's church on Tuesday of last week. Approximately seventy-five young men and yoUng ladies were present at the mass and received Holy Comihunion. A breakfast was served -them in the parish hall after mass. The remainder of the day was spent at conferences and services in church. Conferences were conducted by Rev. John Reuland of St. Mary's parish, McHenry. An appropriate closing included Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Those from here who attended the concert held at - the high school auditorium In Richmond last friday night are still talking about how much it was enjoyed by everyone. The concert was "presented by the band and a capella choir of Wisconsin State college of Eau Clair, ^.n appreciative, as well as large, audience attended this affair. Many homes in this area-showed their hospitality by inviting members of this group into their homes for the night. Mrs. Frank Tlnney entertained members of her birthday club at her home on Thursday afternoon. Games of five hundred were played and prizes went to Mis. William BrltZ, Mrs. Peter May, Mrs. Frank Tlnney, Mrs., Ben May ^nd Mrs. George Huff. A delioious lunch was served to complete the party. Mr. and Mrs. John Sheets have returned' from their vacation in Florida. The Ben Busch family has moved from the farm to a house in Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. Henry--Heinle of Janesville visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wagner this weekend. Charles Freund and "Happy" Wagner visited Mike Huff at the home for aged In Hartland Wednesday afternoon This community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Mike Till, who passed away at his home Wednesday evening,' March 9. Mike was our town barber and will be greatly missed by young and old -- all those who knew and loved him. Our heat tfelt sympathy is extended to liis bereaved widow. Funeral services were held from St. Peter's church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, with interment in St. Peter's cemetery. The Mother's club of Richmond- Burtqn high school held its regular meeting at the high school on Monday night. Plans were made for a darice to be held in the gym on April 16, with the high school Orchestra furnishing the music. Refreshments, too, will be served. After the meeting a most Interesting book review was given by Mrs. Wittmeyer. The title of the book was "Love Is Eternal" by Irving Stone. Lunch was • served by the committee in charge. A group of friends surprised Donna May at her home on Tuesday night* in honor of her birthday. Donna received many lovely and useful gifts. Those- to make up this party were Linda and Barb Josephson, Bonnie Holliday, Maureen " Zimmerman, Linda Larson, Theresa and Barb Popelka, Betty Nelson, Jenny Lennon, Anna Mae Gritzuk, Sonia Komar, Charlotte Freund, Susan Harsha, Donny and Diane May, Ken Larson, Roger Shaw, Bud Jarrett, John Krumpen' and Earl Miller. Mrs. Charles Freund, daughter, Charlotte, and Joan May enjoyed a matinee at Ye Olde Opera House In Woodstock on Sund&y. They also made a call on the Albert Brltz family. Tony Popelka, who Is stationed at Camp Chaffee, Ark., Is home this week on furlough; Americanism--the greater the family income, the greater Is the family's needs.
