The study will be conducted by V. R. Bhalerao, originally of Mysore, India, under the direction of Dr. F. A. Kummerow, associate professor of food chemistry at the University. Bhalerao has been engaged in this research since September 1952. Pure Milk association's grantin- aid of $1,500 is from the Lauterbach Memorial Research Fund, this fund was established in January 1953 as a memorial to Arthur J. Lauterbach, formerly grenerai inariager, Of the association, who died in December, 1952. The University of Illinois study of butterfait adulteration began to April, 1952, with a $1,000 grant from the American Dairy association. Dr. Kummerow began the ireseardhi study. ADA added $1,000 in each of the years of 1952-53 and 1953-54 and $2,000 ill 1954-55 to continue the study. Dr. Kummerow points out that several methods have been devised and used to detect ad/ulteration of butterfat with other edible fats, but none seem to give completely reliable results when the adulteration is less than 30 per cent. Lend Uncle Sam Your Dollars Buy U.S. Savings Bonds . slow down and try to read the signs, then speed up again when you have not found the one you are seeking. Your erratic speeds make you a target for other drivers, and while you are -peering intently at a road or street sign trying to read it, your attention is not where it sboMld be--on the traffic situation. In the few seconds ydu were not watching traffic but were still moving in It, all sorts of accident possibilities can arise. . Suddenly, you discover the car in front of you has stopped, a pedestrian has started across the street or a car is turning left across your path. If you must read street signs, stop out of the traffic lane and read them; you are going to beep driving, keep your attention on traffic. .1:111111I I I II H I I I I I I I II II I141I IIJ 1 1 113 HU LliUI HOMART HOME MODERNIZATION Building Material Sears Roebuck & Co. ^ Floor Tile - Wall Tile f Gutters - Roofing - Siding Garage Doors Combination Windows - Doors Kitchen Cabinets (Formica Tops) FOB FREE ESTIMATES Call or Write FRANK GANS PHONE 1878-W 300 Riverside Dr. McHenry, 111. liiiiiiiiii rii iiiii;i:iii uiiii itiiniri!i!i!i!i!iii iin it rniirni in TAVERN & RESTAURANT AUCTION On account of improvements being made to Route 12, we must vacate the premises, and will offer for sale at public auction, the tavern building and all equipment located \k mile Nbrth 6f Volo, 111., 5 miles South of Fox Lake, 111., on Route 12, on MONDAY.
