Misses Kathy and Sandy Hederrnann, Kathy and Patty McGuire and Pam Marshall Were working diligently on their home-made carnival they had planned for that particular afternoon. The girls got together some rides and side attractions, then proceeded to call their friends up. Refreshments were served to those attending this festive affair. After expenses were deducted, the tota} profit made was 86 cents. The girls decided to turn it over to the rescue squad to help them continue their fine work in the future. You never know when you may have to call upon the squad to come to your assistance as they did at a McCullom Lake drowning last week. •' . . „ Father Joseph Blitsch, as you may know by now, is spiritual director of the rescue squad. . Three cheers for these little giiis whose hearts and minds are thinking to the future. Graduates in Chicago Mrs. Jack Keenan accompanied her daughter, Betty L.ou, into Chicago by train last Tuesday. Betty Lou graduated from the American School of Beauty Culture that afternoon. Mrs. Keenan was the model for her daughter's hair styling at the graduating exercises. Betty Lou was also called upon to make the final speech to the teachers. Although she has graduated, Betty Lou continues to attend the school for advanced hair styling. Mrs. Herman Dowe and daughter, Donna, of McHenry were present with the Keenans as Miss Dowe graduated also. Birthday Celebration On Monday, July 11, the W. T. Peterson home in Hiller's subdivision was the scene of a d o u b l e b i r t h d a y c e l e b r a t i o n . Peggy Jean Peterson was 4 and Brian Stahl was 3 and both were presented with lovely gifts.
