Kaddatz , of Lake Geneva, Wis.! was a Sunday visitor in the Knox home. Miss Clara Stoffel returned Saturday from a vacation at Mackinac Island, Mich., and Ephraim, Wis. She was accompanied by Dr., Louise Kvanson of Chicago. Harold Horstman . of Fort Jennings, Ohio, was a visitor in the Leo Blake home' Saturday. Mrs. Blake, Tommy and Clarice returned home with him for a Fhri visit. <r Mrs. R. I. Overton returned recently from a trip through Wisconsin and Michigan. Mrs. Charles (Chuck) Miller and Mrs. Robert Miller have been enjoying an auto trip to New York. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Steber and daughter, Gloria, of Milwaukee, Wis., were Sunday visitors in the Louis Stoffel home. Mrs. Burt Bienapfl returned home from Tampa, Fla., last week, where she was called by the illness of her mother several weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Olsen, Sr., and Pvt. and Mrs. James Kline . attended a^picnic at the home of Pvt. , Kline's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kline, of rural, Woodstock Sunday. Mrs. Anna Miller, son, Chuck Miller, and Miss Joann Weyland spent the weekend with Miss Dorothea Miller, who is attending a girls' camp near Minocqua, Wis., for a month. Dr. Edwin Evanson of Chicago 0 called on McHenry friends Sunday. He was accompanied home by his sister, Dr. Louise Evanson, who spent the weekend here. Lt. Frank Hicks and family spent the past week in the Robert Newkirk home. Lt. Hicks, a former buddy of Mr. Newkirk, who is making the Navy a career, has been transferred from Pensacola, Fla., to Glenview and the family is now making their home at Pistakee Bay. Miss Barbara Brugger of Kenosha, Wis., is spending the week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bienapfl. Fred Svo'boda is having a vacation from his work in Danville arid plans to spend some time with his parents, the senior Fred Svobodas, enroute home from a trip to Ely, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Muellenbach and sons, James and Thomas, of Adams, Minn., were weekend guests in the Joseph J. Miller home on Waukegan street and aiso called on other relatives and friends in this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Carstens and son, Kit, recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Landre (the former Joy Carstens) at Midway Island, Va., where the Carstens celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Jacl^ Randall and infant son, Jimmy, of Corapolis, Pa., and Mrs. Ida Aeverman of Chicago were vacationing last week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Aeverman. Dinner guests in their home one tevening were Mrs. Lloyd King arid five sons of Mt. Morris, 111., and Frank Casey of Cresent, 111., Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Wewer and two children, Dennis and Linda, left last weelk on a threeweek vacation trip to California. ' Chucke Logan, 17-year-old son of Mr', and Mrs. Charles E. Logan of Laguna Beach, Calif., formerly of McHenry, spent a few days with McHenry friends. He is spending the surpmer with his grandmother in Morris, 111. Mrs. Anna Rodgnkirch, Sr., has just returned from a three-week vacation through the eastern states. She was accompanied by Mr,, and Mrs. George Rodenkirch to McSherrystown, Pa., where they attended the twenty-fifth anniversary of the ordination of Rev. H. A. Wierman, OSA. Rev. Wierman has been a frequent visitor in McHenry. Mrs. Rodenkirch continued her travels through the East and returned home by train. McHENRY SCOUTS ENJOY OUTING AT CAMP LOWDEN NEW BUILDING CODE Steps toward amending the county zoning ordinance and the adoption of a new building code were accomplishments of the county board of supervisors in session last week. Under the new code the fee will be determined by square footage involved rather than a flat rate. Fees for issuing of construction, as well as for residential and other phases of building will be revised. HARDEST BUSIEST CHEAPEST WORKERS IN TOWN PLAINDEALER WANT ADS Sunday started a week of camping for twenty-three boys of Boy Scout Troop 161 of McHenry, who are at - Camp Lowden, Oregon, 111. The camp occupies many beautiful, wooded acres on the Rock river about 90 miles southwest of McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Aufrecht registered the McHenry group, in camp at 3 p.m. Sunday. Boys staying one week are Carl Antonson, James Jones, Ronald Nitz, James Peterson, Harry stinespring, Gary Franclce, Dennis Huff, Kenneth Lishamer and Scott Miller. A guest night program was held on Wednesday night, with parents attending and taking refreshments which w^re served after the campfire program. Many boys of Troop 161 will stay at Camp Lowden for two weeks. They are„Walter Aufrecht, Jr., Kenneth Booster, Roy Erickson, Harold and Robert Foss, Tony Freels, Richard Herdrich, Kenneth Homo, Terry Jordon, Don Kibbe, Arthur Sternickle, John Larson, Kenneth Pope and Gerald Thennes. Harry Stinespring, Jr., will share camping accommodations with the boys on Friday evening when he travels to Camp Lowden to reoeivo the Order of th«» Arrow award in an interest ceremony. Mr. Stinespring is chairman of the Kishwaui'xee district of Scouts, in which district are McHenry, Woodstock, Crystal Lake, Cary.
