Carl Bioltler and Miss Kathryn Buch will put on a few vaudeville features at the picnic at (Fox River Grove at Cary next Monday, Labor Day. A guide post has been placed at the east end of Main street on the West Side. This has also been a dangerous corner and the placing of the post shows very good judgment on the part of the village board. .Dr. C. H. Fegers has rented a suite of rooms in the Nordquist house and has already gone to housekeeping therein. village on Aug. 10, 1872. TEN YEARS ACrO From Issue of Aug. 16, 1945 Mrs. Laura Kent-- A peaceful death came to Mrs. Laura Kent, 69, on last Thursday, Aug. 9, 1945, after a lengthy illness. Death came in St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, where she had been confined for the past six weeks. Thought For The Week-- "Evil is unnatural -- goodness the natural state of man. Earth has no hopeless islands or continents. We live in a redemptive world. Poverty will end; sin will die; love will triumph, and hope wili plant flowers on every grave."--David Swing. Give children small servings; remember, big amounts may be discouraging to a small child. It is well for a child to form the habit of cleaning his plate and then asking for a second helping if wanted. Liked His Work-- During their stay in McHenry about forty of the performers of the Sparks circus visited" our blind bag puncher, Walter Freund, and watched him go through hi$ daily workout. The visitors were more than impressed with what they saw and all wondered that he was not on the road, as they declared him to be one of the best bag punchers that they had ever h$d the pleasure to*** watch. The bag punching artist has had a set of bells attached to the bags and furnishes his own music while he works. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO From Issue of Aug. 21, 1990 McHenry Has Birthday-- Whoopee!
