J Irt the firsts game .last Tuesday, Psfa Yanks bowed to Old Bridge Tavern by a score of 11 to 5. Old Bridge was behind 1 to 0 until the last of the second, when P. Freund hit a home run to tie the score. They then scored" 4 , runs in the third and fourth and 2 in the sixth. In addition to the 1, run scored for Pa's in,.the first, they got 3 in the fourth &nd 1 in the fifth. Leading hitters were EI. Todd and Bud Thennes, with 2 for 3 for Pa's, and B. Miller, with 3 for 3, and P. Freund and A. McCarroll, with 2 for 3 for Old Bridge. Winning pitcher was t. McCarroll and the loser was ud Thennes. Buss Motors' beat Wonder Lake by a score of 27 to 5 in the second game Tuesday to cinch first place in the league. The leading hitters for Buss were Hagberg, 3 for 3, D. Schaefer, "2* for 2, B. In "the first game Thursday, Hettermann's Tavern scored four runs in the sixth inning to beat McHenry Sand & Gravel 11 to 8, l£thus insuring themselves of fourth place and a chance in the playoffs. Leading hitters for Hettermann's were J. Freund and Si Meyers, with 3 for 4, and B. Meyers, with 2 for 3. For Sand & Gravel, H. Weingart got 3 for 3 and J. Gilmore and Ray Bord got 2 for 3. Winning pitcher was B. Brand and the loser was B. Kilday. In the final game of the schedule, Bimbo's Tavern beat Mc- ' Henry V.F.W. 19 to 6 to finish the season in second place. TORNOW DEATH Old friends in the McCullom Lake community mourn the death early this week of Mrs. William (Helen) Tornow, who died in Chicago. The Tornows, who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary a few years ago, returned to Chicago to make their permanent home some time ago. Survivors include the husband and a daughter, Nora" Shaughnessy.
