I 4-H Club Leaders Meet Leaders of the thirty-five home economics 4-H clubs in McHenry j county will meet Sept. 2 at 9 j o'clock in the meeting room of the Farm Bureau building, Wood-! stock. Mrs. Sibyl Sears, assistant! home adviser, says the purpose of the meeting is the annual checking of records of the year's 4-H home economics work in the county. During the all-day session, the leaders will check records submitted by 4-H girls and will turn in the ^record of activities of their clubs. At a " later date, the county 4-H cbmmittee, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Clarence Seegers, Marengo, will meet to complete the records . and select records to be sent to the state 4-^H office. ' Meyer Family Reunion Sunday A family reunion of the Anton and Anna Maria Meyer descendents was held Sunday, Aug. 28, at Fox River park, Wilmot, Wis. The Meyers were the parents of twelve children, of whom four are still living, Mrs. Joe P. Miller, Mrs. Jacob F. Justen and Mrs. Ben Stilling of McHenry and Mrs. Jacob R. Justen of Waukegan. There were about 200 relatives present at the reunion, which was a most happy gathering. A pot-luck dinner was served at noon. Relatives attended from Waukegan, McHenry, Woodstock, Harvard, Hartland, Spring Grove, Solon Mills and Cary. A great-grandson, Rev. Fr. Eugene Jung, M.S.C., who is procurator at Sacred Heart seminary, Shelby, Ohio, came out for the occasion. A great-granddaughter, Sister Mary Ruth, O.S.F., was unable to be present. She is stationed at Cardinal Stritch college, Milwaukee, Wis. Another great-grandson, Loren Boppart. who is a student for the priesthood, could not be present. Kenneth May, a greatgrandson, is also a student and MARY JEAN DOHERTY AND MARK HOPKINS MARRIED SATURDAY | St. Patrick's Chapel of the Sacred Heart was the scene of a lovely wedding service on Saturday morning, Ang. 27, when Miss Mary Jean Doherty became the bride of Mr. Mark Wyatt Hopkins. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Doherty and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hopkins of Fox street. Rev. Fr. Edw%rd C. Coakley officiated at the nuptial rite, which was solemnized at 11 o'clock. Given in marriage by her father, Miss Doherty chose a ballerina length dress of ivory taffeta, with which she wore a short veil attached to an ivory cap of sequins. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. Donald Doherty acted as matron of honor for her sisterin- law, wearing light blue tulle, blue accessories and a blue headband. She carried white roses in a colonial bouquet. Miss Erin Green of Dubuque, Iowa, a cousin of the bride, acted as junior bridesmaid, attired similarly to the matron of honor. Jacque Hopkins of Madison. Wis., brother of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Allen Bockman of McHenry and James Darby of Jacksonville, Fla., close friends. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Doherty chose a blue suit, blacq accessories and a corsage of tiny white mums. Mrs. Hopkins wore a chartreuse dress, matching hat and white mums. A breakfast for 125 relatives and close friends followed the ceremony at the Crystal Lodge, Crystal Lake. Later in the day, the couple left for Middlebury, Vt., where Mr. Hopkins will start his senior year at Middlebury college, where he is studying journalism. The former Miss Doherty is a graduate of the McHenry high school and of Rosary college with the class of 1952. She hj|s, be^n employed as travelling representative and placement director for Moser Business college. Mr. Hopkins graduated from the local school, attended Middlebury college for three years before entering the Air Force and last January, upon his release, resumed studies there. MRS. SIDNEY (FINKLEMAN Before her marriage to Sidney Finkleman of Chicago on Aug. 13, this pretty bride was Miss Diane Weingrad of Lakemoor. The couple exchanged vows at Congregation Mt. Sinai, Chicago.
