Bowling Bowling hours for Saturday morning are changed from 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. The bowling is sponsored by the Kiwanis club for children 10 years or over, and they bowl at the McHenry bowling alleys. More instructors and scorers are badly needed by the club. You need your own transportation. P.T.A. The Lilymoor-Lakemoor P.T.A. held a rummage sale on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22. The sale was a success. Mrs. J. Gray was chairman of the rummage sale and Mrs. Ritter cochairman. Also, the P.T.A. has lemon and vanilla flavoring on sale, the pro. ceeds of this sale to go , toward purchasing a coffee urn. Dorothy received lovely gifts from her relatives and friends. A delicious light luncheon was served. The shower was held at Rita Erickson's home. General News Mr. and Mrs. C. Hyatt entertained their sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Truetz, formerly of Ltftk'emoor, for two days. Mrs. TnietZ now resides in California. Steph Szarek spent a pleasant Sunday with her daughter, Carol, at Mt. St. Mary school in St. Charles. William G. Stratton's 1955 highway construction program went into public service Monday, Oct. 17 when eight miles of new 22-foot pavement on Alternate U.S. Route 30"f in Lee and Whiteside counties was opened to traffic. The new stretch extends from Dixon southwesterly toward sterling. Traffic volume checks indicate that approximately 5,000 vehicles . will use this new road daily. MUNICIPAL TAX A total of SI,922,131 was derived from the one-half cent municipal sales tax in 114 Illinois cities, according to a report by Richard J. Lyons, director of the state Department of Revenue. After deduction of administrative costs, the amount distributed to these pities was $1,803,095.
