r<^:. Thursday, Nowfebor3,1955 THE McHENRY PLAINDEALER :^'S'. J- '* 'W You may not' have to walk farther than your own Backyard to picture a football hero. Gridiron Snapshooting "distance lends enchantment"-- actually helping slow down the action so that your camera can cdtch it clearly. Just load your camera with film designed for fast action, use a small lens opening, select an interesting angle--and you pan expect to get good prints of the game in progress. Once you have the prints made, you may want to show your photofinisher a particular portion you'd like to have enlarged. He can crop and enlarge„it to snapshot size for you so satisfactorily that ho one will suspect your picture hadn't been taken by a news photographer way up close to the action. Can you imagine a more won- ^ derful opportunity for good pictures than a football game? There are players in action on the gridiron, the pigskin flying across the goal-line, the packed grandstand, the mduhting excitement of the spectators, the cheerleaders, the band--hundreds of picture possibilities that deserve to be recorded for your immediate pleasure and future enjoyment. There's no doubt about it--kickoff Jtime ought really be called "click-off time"! Every thud of a toe against the pigskin, every cheer from the crowd merits a click of the camera. No one who enjoys football can afford to forget his camera when he goes to a game--at least, not if he wants *1 a true-to-life record of the home team in action. The nice thing about it is you can snap your pictures right from the grandstand and get excellent results. For here's a case where One more reminder is that even a scrub game or a practice session can be big game for your camera. Good football shots are where you find them--sandlot or stadium, small-fry or big-league style. --John Van Guilder Johnsburg News By Mrs. Betty Hetterra&nn Sad News The death of two of our longtime residents saddened our community last week. if* Funeral services were, held at St. John's church at '"last Wednesday morning for Ben Tonyan. Not only can they make the man, but they can also be the cause of his death. Records show that the wrong kind of clothes are often responsible for accidents around corn-harvesting machinery, says Q'; L. Hogsett, extension safety specialist, University of Illinois College of Agriculture. A man running a corn picker should wear clothes that won't catch on moving gears, belts, shafts and other parts.
