Following the christening, a gathering was held at the home of the maternal grandparents, the Joseph F. Wagners, in Volo. Other guests included the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Freund, Sr., and also Mr. and Mrs. Walter Herman of Milwaukee. Christen Son At «t. (Mary's The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Paddock of Hunterville Park, born at St. Therese hospital on Oct. 19, was christened John Everett at St. Mary's church Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Fr. Reuland. Sponsors for the baby were Mrs. Everett Klinger, an aunt, and Everett Paddock, an uncle. A super was served to the sponsors and the grandparents following the baptism. projects. Three Classes Hold Reunion A reunion of the graduating classes of the McHenry high school of 1912, '13 and *14 was held in Wisconsin last Saturday. A delicious luncheon was served to eleven former classmates, after which a social afternoon was enjoyed. In attendance were Mrs. Ella Walkup of Greenwood, Mrs. Lucille Saylor, Mrs. Hazel Belcher and Mrs. Laura Hughes of Woodstock, Mrs. Ruby Shepard of Ringwood, Mrs. Anna Winkelman, Mrs. Agnes Bienapfl, Mrs. Eleanor Foley and Miss Genevieve Knox of McHenry, Mrs. Ethel smith of Pi&takee Bay and Miss Florence Knox of Crystal Lake. Nancy Schmtmk 1 Tears Old Nancy Schmunk observed her seventh birthday anniversary recently, when she entertained friends at a party at the home of her parents, the Sam . Schmunks. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by Joyce Adams, Terry and Mary Larkin, Charlene Klapperich, Mykfell Freund, Kathy CDonnell, Charlene Hagfoerg, Linda, Judy, Sandra and Donna Schmunk. Garden Club Has Outing The McHenry Garden club, ih: stead of its last regular meeting', enjoyed a pleasant day beginning with luncheon at Dundee, visiting several interesting shops and later a informative tour of the pottery works. Miss Mary BUrdahl, a club member, received a beautiful arrangement of white snapdragons and red roses during the tour. She was especially pleased since it was her parents" fifty-fourth wedding anniversary and she, in, turn, presented the*; flowers to them. The next meeting will be held Nov. 29 at 1:30 at the home of Mrs. A. C. Thornton at Pistakee. Christmas plans will be discussed at this time. Entertains club At Dinner Oct 26 Mrs. Henry Seegert of East River Road was hostess to members of her card club at Arlington Heights on Oct. 26. The following members enjoyed the day: Mesdames George Glos, Albert Vales, Bruno Juerejns, Arthur Klingberg, Amy Hinricks, Peter Freund, Grace O'Brien and Frank Zimmerman, and these guests, Mrs. John Mass, Mrs. Harry Burnes, Mrs. Julius Gruenfeld, Mrs. *Joe Mikota, Mrs. Milton Olson, Mrs. Harold Crokin and Mrs. Clarence Gath. Three members were unable to attend because of illness. MRS. CHARLES FAGO REELECTED ^DIRECTOR OF P.T.A. DISTRICT 210 Attended Square Dance A large crowd of 210 young people attended the special Hallowe'en dance and party at Edgebrook school Saturday evening, Oct. 29. Square dancing was enjoyed, with coke and doughnuts served. Chaperones were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fischer and Mr. and Mrs. Art Olson from Edgebrook, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Freund representing St. John's, Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Freund of St. Patrick's, Mr. end Mrs. "Bud" Liptrot and ££r. and Mrs. Ray Albright of St. Mary's. Judges who awarded tweptysix prizes for costumes were Mrs. "Bud'; Liptrot, Joe M. Freund and Bernard Freund. The next dance will be held Nov. 12. More than 200 delegates, members and guests of Lake, Boone and McHenry county Parent Teacher associations gathered at McHenry high school to hear an address by Mrs, Melvin Lockafd, president of the Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers, and to elect a district director. The annual district conference of District 26 WHS held Oct. 26. Mrs. Charles Fago of Winthrop Harbor was re-elected director of District 2$. She will be ' installed at the annual state convention on April 21 in Peoria. Mrs. Fago, a parent teacher member for twenty-six years, is completing her first term as district director. She is a past president of Winthrop Harbor Parent Teacher association and Zion Benton high school P.T.A. She has recently been presented with a life niembership in the Illinois Congress of Pareiits and Teachers by the Winthrop Harbor P.T.A. in appreciation of her faithful and devoted services in behalf of children- and youth. Seventy local units make up the district with last year's membership standing' at 13,270. DIVORCE GRANTED Mae Glover of McHenry was granted a divorce from John Glover in circuit court last Friday. They were married in 1952. GIRLS COLLECT $175 DURING "HOBO DAYS" IN McHENRY Eighty-four "hoboes", all members of the Future Homemakers of America club in the local high School, were tired but happy after their reecnt "Hobo Days," when they learned that they nad earned a total'of $175.06. The four girls turning in the most money were Jewel May, Charlene Freund, Eleanor Springman and Donna Mae King. Ruth Ann Tabor won a prize for doing the most un\isulal job and Section V was awarded a prize for the section turning in the . most money. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Scharf, the girls' advisors, were .proud and pleased with the work done and Hope to make "6obo Days" an annual affair.
