CARPENTIER Secretary of State ., Mental distractions are responsible for many of our highway accidents. When behind the steering %heel, a motorist should give undivided attention to the task of driving. That quarrel with th« wife or husband should be forgotten. Troubles at the office Bhould be driven from the mind of a motorist while operating a vehicle. The fraction of a second that it takes to get the mind off a personal problem and to face a sudden crisis on the highway may easily cost a life. Emergency decisions come up almost every day in the life of a motorist. A driver must ever be on the alert for the motorist who will suddenly cut in front of his vehicle while making a right turn from the second lane . . . for the driver who pulls away from the Olirb without looking . . . for the Impatient, inconsiderate motorist %ho makes a left turn without Waiting for an adequate opening. Don't let your mind wander when driving. The operation of a vehicle demands full attention of the driver. Day-dreaming at the wheel jfipay cost you your life.
