Mink, muskrats and coon seefn to be plentiful this year and everyone should make a good catch. We would like to remind all trappers that it is a good idea to tag all your traps even though the law does not require it. Johnny Sneakum hasn't been molesting many trappers for a few years but whenever the subject arises among a group of trappers, terrible threats are uttered. Basketball season opens Friday night when the McHenry Warriors travel to Marengo for the first game. Marengo isn't in the same conference, but for our part any game tWith a county team is interesting. It is always interesting to watch the first game and speculate on the future. Mark it down on your calendar that Barrington will be here next Wednesday night for the first Warrior home game and the conference opener. Last Saturday, Nov. 12, the "A" team of the rifle club met at the range. It proved to be a very eventful day. Several N.R.A. marksmanship qualifications were achieved. Bill Jensen won his marksman award. "Buzz" Jensen won his sharpshooter award. John Steinibach earned his pro-marksman award and Joe Sanford completed his pro-marksman and marksman awards. The highest score obtained since the club's beginning in November of 1954 was shot by "Buzz" Jensen. He fired 46 out of a possible 50 points. He held the previous record of 44 points. The Saturday after Thanksgiving the club will stage another club champion match, in which every member will fire four targets in the kneeling position and the highest score and best group Y^ill decide the position champion. Previous champions are Pat Buckie in standing and Bill Jensen in prone position. Tuesday Nqv. 22, there will be a hunter safety meeting and the club will draw up funds to be re-chartered with the National Rifle association for our second year. ( The last week in November the club is planning a Parents' night meeting in the McHenry high school. All members and parents will be requested to appear. We are planning several attractive displays of club equipment and materials. The meeting will be very important to parents. Members will participate in the displays.
