We know the members have tickets to sell in advance. Seems they nailed us way back in the summer at the McCullom Lake carnival. Help the Rescue Squad and pray that you will never have to call them to help you or one of your loved ones. t Here is one sweet note on the MCHS foobball season. Chuck Majercik, outstanding tackle, was chosen on the first team of North Suburban all-stars. Majercik was a rugged boy in that line and must have gained a lot of respect in the conference. •-- ^fcHeniy Recreation McHenry had another honor as Bill Huemann drew honorable mention among the quarter backs. Next Monday evening the football team will be guests of honor at the annual • Kiwanissponsored banquet. That allows us a couple of days to recover from Thanksgiving stuffin'. Both McHenry teams won their games at Marengo last week and both teams picked the second quarter to show class. If they could hold that pace the season would be just dandy. In fact, there are so many that they have invaded the city of McHenry. Pete Rothermel caught one in his garbage oan but let it go with the (feeling of "Aw, it wasn't hurting anybody." However, Mrs. Dolbyns does not feel the same way about coons. It seems that one climbed down the chimney of her antique shop and made a shambles of part of her shop. The coon broke a rare candlestick, a big mirror, a good vase, knocked down a couple of shelves, etc. All in all the darned thing created general havoc in Mrs. Dabyns' shop. 0 We got a call the other night from Mr. Anglese. He had a coon in his garage and wondered if we would want it. His offer was accepted and a little while later another coon stretcher was full. Bill McCarroll says if we can write about Leonard Johnson's pike, we oan write about his 15 doves. - The 0 rabbit season opens this Saturday and everyone should do well as there are quite a few bunnies around. Trappers are doing all right. Norm Danko caught a 4% lb. male mink. That's a lot of fur. FROSH-SOPH FIVE WINS 48-30 GAME FROM MARENGO HIGH We wanted to write some reasons we are thankful at Thanksgiving time. Such as the fact that our old boas and sparring partner, "Mose", is home from the hospital and getting a step nearer tS recovery each day. We might have added some monkeyshines, but the ! fcress is about to start rolling. So, . we will just thank God for yjur ' "blessings and ours (And if the Good Lord can help u& arrangers couple of more working hours in a day we will be most thankful). ' The warriors took; a, 9 to 3 lead in the first quarter,' then showed some real sharp shooting in the second period to butscore the home team 22 to 9, Every man got into the scoring act in this period as the plays were set up in-a fashion that must ha,ve made Coacpi cliff Fulton think the boys had remembered their teachings. The edge wore off the Warrior team in the third period as Marengo showed much better form than in the first half. Marengo made 6 out of 6 free •throw attempts as they led the scoring 12 to 10 in the third period. The Warriors committed a couple of fouls in the wrong end of the floor to"° give away points. Marengo moved up to within 12 points in the fcunth period- before the Warriors could get the situation in hand and give Coach Fultpn a chance to give his reserves a chance to play, team scored 8 points in the final period and McHenry's big scoring spree in the second quarter stood up for a safe margin of victory. Pierce scored 14 points for McHenry in a well-balanced scoring summary. The game ended with Tom Mc- Mahon sinking one of those unbelieveable long throws from past the middle of the floor. -*•» McHenry <49) Pierce McMahon MCHS BASKETBALL AH- )£• Nov. 23 -- Barrington here Nov. 29v-- Hebron here Dec. ? -- At Warren Dec. iL."-1" •A-'t Libertyville Dec. 10 -- Crystal Lake here Dec. 16 -- Woodstock here Dec. 20 ;-- At Harvard Dec. 27-30 Invitational tournament at Grant H.S., Fox Lake Jan. 6 -- At Lake4 Forest Jan. 13 --.
