The colors were presented and the' troop gave their pledge of allegiance. Each patrol then took over their corners and had a brief review of the Morse code, after which they were tested by the scoutmaster and assistant scoutmasters oh their aibility to recite it. James Hansen of the Eagle patrol brought in a very^ nicely made up knot board he had made, and we'd like to see more of these boards made up. ^S0 dad, remind that Scout of yours to get busy on his knot board. He'll enjoy making it, once he gets it started. A game of Indian dodge ball was played With the No. 1 team winning the game. After the game, the boys g:ot busy and started on the Christmas gifts they are making for their mothers. Dues were collected by the scribe. A new Scout joined us, Tim Ballowe. Welcome, Tim, we know you'll enjoy scouting. The meeting was closed by the Alligator patrol. /Troop 164 Our regular meeting was not f ]|eld as we were invited by the " Wonder Lake troop to attend their Scouting program night. Most of our Scouts attended, with the scoutmaster, Maynard Meyer, and assistant scoutmaster, Jack Weber. It was a very interesting . program and we all enjoyed it very much. A large number of adults, some of whom do not have a child in scouting, are taking an: active interest in the program. The Christmas party for the Scouts of Troop 164 will be held at the Moose lodge _ on Thursday, Dec. 15, and will begin promptly at 8 o'clock^ So plan to be there early. Santa Claus will be there and he iftay have something in his sAck for you. Lots of lucl^ jto Jim Rackow and his family, who have moved to Florida. We're sorry to see you go, Jim. Donald Meyer will assist Jack Weber in his duties as assistant scoutmaster, Jim Reid and Mr. Lavin have joined as troop committeemen. Thanks, men, we need you and more like you. Combine crumbs and milk and let stana 10 minutes. Beat sugar and eggs and add alternately with suet to the crumb mixture. Stir in flour -- fruit mixture. Add white wine and mix well. Turn the mixture into a generously buttered 2-quart mold; tie over the mold a damp and floured cheese doth. Cover the mold tightly. Steam about 3Vi hours in boiling water, adding more water as needed. Remove mold from water ana cool Store in a cool dark place about 2 weeks to 1 month to mellow. An ortho-rater instrument was used for this. survey, which enabled the examiner to check the visual acuity, depth perception, color perception and the ability of the eyes to coordinate properly. Out of 150 school children surveyed, approximately l{j per cent showed some sign of visual malfunction. This did not necessarily mean that the child should be wearing corrective lenses, but that further visual testing was indicated; Notices to this effect were sent home to the parents.
