Freund of Woodstock, a former, local resident. September 12 -- Steven James, 12-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wittrock of Pistakee Bay, died at the Wittrock home. , £ September •, 16 -- Harry B. Reed, a former resident of Orchard Beach, died in Florida. The same day death claimed Enos Tope of Rock Fails, who died at a local rest home. October 28 -- A heart attack proved fatal to Mrs. Mary Michels, 72, of Johnsburg. October 31 -- Lyle Gillette,- 58, a clerk at the North Western depot since May, died in Memorial hospital a few hours' after he had been found unconscious in his room in the former. November 17 -- Mrs .Helene Baxter, 82,. died at the home ol a daughter, Lydia Martell, on Country Club Drive. November 20 -- Death claimed Charles E. Jecks, 91', one of the township's best liked residents. November 23 -- Family and friends mourned the passing of Louis J. McElmeel, who died of a heart attack. November 24 -- Death claimed Richard Kloepfer, 33, of Crystal Lake, who formerly lived in McHenry. November 25 -- Helen Fitzgerald, 39, of Lakeland Park, died. November 27 -- Miss Patricia Haggin, 24, formerly lay teacher in St. Mary's school, died after a short illness. Death also took Mrs. Mary Nelson, 81,, of Porten's subdivision. DECEMBER December 1 -- Mrs. Emma Freund Barbian, 85, died, ending a marriage of sixty-four years. December 2 -- Death took Mrs. Virginia Manthei, 50, a resident for the past three years. December 4 -- Friends mourned the unexpected passing of Richard Brun, 51, who died while visiting friends at Lilymoor. December 8 -- The community was shocked with the death of Warren Jones, 31, who died after an illness of several months. December 11 -- Death took Mrs. Sophia Schmelzer, 88, who died in Berlin, Wis. She had been a resident of the Bull Valley community for forty-two years. December 16 -- Barney Donash, 63, of Wonder Lake, a retired Chicago policeman, died in Memorial hospital. A family dinner and supper for invited guests were also held in the school hall and open house attracted many friends during the afternoon. In Woodstock, at the home of a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Larson of Hebron, formerly of Wonder Lake, celebrated their anniversary at open house. Their six children were all present for the occasion. June 9 -- Mr. and Mrs. Eric Peterson, forty-four year residents of this community, observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. Mr. Peterson, now retired, was in the boat building business locally for many years. September 4 -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Miller of Chicago, summer residents of Pistakee Lake for fifty-one years, celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. October 8 -- Open house was held at their home at 403 Maple street, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferwerda on their golden wedding anniversary. Their five children were among those in attendance. Miller observed their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary with a high mass of thanksgiving at St. Patrick's church.
