A. Stevens and daughter, Charlotte, visited for five days during the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hansen and family of Wooded Shores. Mr. and Mrs. Stevens are from Perrysburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Stevens is a sister of Mrs. Hansen. Two servicemen who spent the holidays -with . their families at the lE^e were Richard Mathews, son of "Mrs. pearl Mathews, who is in the Air Corps stationed in Texas, and Charles Kopp, Jr., son of Mr. and ftfrs. Charles Kopp, who is stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. At a recent meeting of the McHenry board of realtors, held at the Country Club in McHenry, T. P. Mathews was elected president for a second year. • Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Epp of Wooded Shores left Sunday., Jan. 8," for Florida, where they will spend about two months Qn Jan. 4, Mrs. Epp was honored at a luncheon given by her neighbor. Christ The King Church News The Holy Name society of Christ the King church will have" its monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 12, at the home of James Stendebach. The meeting will begin at 8:30. The N.C.C.W. met Thursday, Jan. 5, at the home of Mrs. Mendyk. A quilting party was held and the ladies learned about quilt making and started on one to be used to raise money for the church at a future date. Altar boys of the church meet every Thursday from 7:30 to 8 at the church. Three men are there to give the boys instruction. AH boys from fourth grade on up may join. New cassocks have recently been purchased for the boys. The choir practices every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 under the direction of Mrs. Jane Widen. A grab bag party and games were enjoyed by the hostesses and Mrs. Louise Johnson, Mrs. Kay Boldt, Mrs. Cecil Moyer, Mrs. Melvina Knackstedt, Mrs. Lorraine Moore, Mrs. Frances Feldhahn and Mrs. Elaine Sehwarz. The Wonder Laxe C.Y.O. held a dance Saturday, Jan. 7, at Harrison school?1 All young people of the community were invited and there were about thirty five present. M^aic was provided by records and cokes were available. Merry Weisenburger and Barbara Jacobson baked a birthday cake and presented it to Phyllis Letizia to help her celebrate her birthday early. She was 14 on Jan. 12. Congratulations to Laurence Wenkel. a Legion member, and his lovely bride-to-be, JoAnn Indelicato, who announced their engagement on New Year's Eve. JoAnn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. jasper Indelicato. The couple plan to be married in late April." -Plans are being made1 by the Legion for a Valentine dance to be held at the Legion hall Feb. 11. Nativity Church News The Church- Sunday School meets at 9:15 and is open to all children from the age of 3 on up. Church worship services are at 8 and 10:45, am". A nursery is provided during the 10:45 service for the small children. The sermon topic for Sunday, Jan. 15, will be "The First of Many." The monthly meeting of the Brotherhood will be held Monday, Jan. 16, at 8. All men of the Births Randolph Hoyt is the name chosen for the new. son of Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Watkins, who was the last baby born in 1955 in Memorial hospital in Woodstock. He has two big sisters to help care for him and a small brother to entertain him. Dr. and Mrs. Donald Sturm were happy to welcome their Second girl, Delora Eileen, Jan. 4. Little Delora also has two brothers at home. Thursday, Jan. 12, the Missionary guild of the Wonder Lake Bible church met in the home of Mrs. Anna Samkus. The meeting began at 10 a.m., with lunch being served at noon. Pastor Wright presented the devotions at this meeting. The skating is fine on the lake. Don't be left out because your skates are too small or you can't find a used pair to buy. Contact Wally Dean, who is keeping a list at his store of people who have iskates for sale. Mrs. Ann Street of Lookout Point is home from the hospital and feeling fine. ' Children's Party The Wonder Woods social group had one of their nicest children's parties at Millie's on Friday afternoon, Dec. 30. About fifty children, ranging in age from 2 to 12 years, attended, accompanied by ten mothers. A gaily decorated Christmas tree and the three long tables covered with Christmas tablecloths and a fancy red cellophane bag of candy and cookies at each place gave a festive air. The children were served ice cream, chocolate milk and cookies, after, which they played games, with prizes won ' by little Susan Schweitzer,. Gordie Anderson, Paul Mesiak, Craig Coursen and Jay Cope. WTien they were ready to leave, each child "fished" for a present to take home. Mrs. Ann MJller and Mrs. Ruth Woodward w4ve co-chairmen of the party, assisted by Mrs. Mary Sandgren, who arranged the games. The ladies want to thank all who donated for the party. This party is ah annual affair to which all & children living in Wonder Woods are invited. The Wonder Lake Cub Scout Pack, No. 358, held their meeting Dec? 20 at Harrison school. The tUi-Ti'oSat1 was rather -small due to chicken pox, colds and the flu, which sof many children have suffered. Larry Hensel gave a talk to the parents on Cub uniforms and their children's achievements in cubbing. She also helped Mrs. Haerle in the kitchen, ^making coffee and serving refreshments. Many delicious cakes were donated by the mothers and a very nice visit w;as had by all over coffee and cake. The committee meetiiyf was held Jan. 5 at Ruth Mann's home. Plans were made for the blue and gold banquet .to be held Feb. 21 at Harrison school at 7:30 p.m. More details will be given later.
