Voting Results The much discussed voting of the incorporation of Johnsburg •came to a close last Saturday evening. As many of you know, the incorporation was not passed. The vote was 105 yes and 131 no, with twelve spoiled ballots. with Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Pitzen and family and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fuehs and family at her home last Saturday evening. Little Mary Ann Bell was thrilled on her fifth birthday last Wednesday, March 21, when her mother took her to Chicago to see an afternoon kiddie television show. They were accompanied by Mrs. Ethel Heim and ( daughter, Susan. After the prol gram, the little girls spoke with the stars of the show, so you can well imagine what they will be talking about for a long time to come. They all enjoyed lunch downtown after the show. Our speedy get-well wished to both these gentlemen. Wedding Shower Miss Janice Oeffling was guest at a shower given in her honor last Sunday afternoon at the Community club. Miss Oeffling was the recipient of many lovely gifts which she can use, after she becomes the bride of Ed Tonyan on April 7. Bowling Notes The Thursday night ladies' league finished their season of bowling last Thursday evening. It has been nip and tuck between the teams all year. Of course, one team has to be first and someone has to be last but it has been a real good season for all. The top three teams are as follows: First place -- Hettermann's Tavern, Betty Hettermann, Dorothy Hettermann, Mary Hettermann, Betty Freund and Mabel Smith. Second Place -- Bowling Bar, Zelda Malochleb. Sylvia Spielman, Marge Voase, Marge Schomas and Mary Tomasello. Third Place -- Leo's Painterettes, Diane Neiss, Isabelle Stilling, Rosemary Young, Laura Schmitt and Fran Weingart. Mary Beth Fuchs walked off with first place with high 3-game series of 566 and Zelda Malochleb rolled a high game of 243. Hettermann's Tavern bowled 2219 for high series and Bowling Bar hit 822 for high team game. The girls will bowl their doubles on April 5 and .iold their banquet at Carpentersville on April 12 at 7:30. Coming Events Don't forget the dance at the Community club next Monday evening, April 2. Plan gpn enjoying ah evening's fun of dancing to a fine orchestra. Tickets are now being sold for the ladies' night banquet coming up on May 7 at the Community club. After dinner, the ladies and gents will enjoy cutting a few fancy steps to some good music. Get yourw tickets real soon. Sick List We all hope Leo Michels will be feeling like his old self in the near future. He had quite a spell last Saturday morning and his family found it necessary to call the rescue squad. Harry Ward is feeling quite a bit better since last weekend. Word comes through the grapevine that three of our young men have enlisted in the armed services. They are Jim Jackson, Tom Oeffling and Don Weber. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith received a call recently from their son. Pvt. Robert-Smith, from Ft. Lewis, Wash. Bob is waiting to take a trip to Japan at the expense of Uncle Sam.
