It was guest day and approximately thirty members and their guests were present. An interesting talk was given on chinaware. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. Untold pleasure is experienced y many of us because the oungest little Hurckes, Steven rthur, is recovering nicely from operation. Steven was born Feb. 13, 1956. • An anticipated operation finally was performed on Jim Mcln- 6rney. Jim is improving remarkably well, especially as I hacL him convalescing a few weeks ago. We have been asked to again remind the "Pistakee-ites" of the meeting of the Community Association. The April ndfeeting at 8 p.m. at the Horner abode. We believe this meeting -will prove to be most interesting. Mrs. Paul Weber underwent surgery at Sherman hospital, Elgin, recently. j Chester Stevens has returned j home after " being hospitalized J several months at Victory Memorial hospital in Waukegan. I Mrs. Frances McNally and j Mrs. Eva Freund attended Palm Sunday service and solemn high mass at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. They also enjoyed a Day of Recollection with merrv j bers of the Illinois Club for^j Catholic Women at their club j rooms in the Lewis Towers build- j ing in Chicago. Donald Horner celebrated his birthday last Sunday, March 25. A dinner party was given in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Horner. Out-oftpwn guests from Chicago helped make the day a success. Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Jordan were entertained at a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mueller. The occasion was Mrs. Jordan's birthday. A surprise visit was made by their son, C. Harold Jordan, of Champaign. Mrs. Mueller is the daughter Of the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan met each other for the first time over fifty years ago on an Easter Sunday. They were married fifty years last October. Here's an interesting way to prepare it: Rolled Lamb Shoulder and Pineapple Mint Sauce You will need 3Vi to 4 lbs. lamb shoulder Salt and pepper to taste Vj teaspoon ground ginger teaspoon garlic salt V> cup pineapple syrup Vs cup chopped fresh mint leaves or jelly' 1 tablespoon wine vinegar Method: Haye shoulder of lamb boned and rolled. Rub the salt, pepper, ginger and garlic well into meat. Place on a trivet in roasting pan. Roast 325°F oven allowing 25 to 30 minutes per pound. When roast has cooked about 30 minutes, baste with 1 tablespoon of butter stirred into Yz cup hot water. Baste With juice in pan often. Serve with the following sauce lightly heated: Several hours before serving combine mint leaves, pineapple juice and vinegar. Add salt to taste. Let set in a warm place, to steep.
