BLUES" - thus one housewife describes the feeling she geffc whenever she descends intp the dank, dark, and otherwise uninviting lower region of her home to do her wash. Two alternative solutions to her problem, suggested by home-planning experts: Modernize the basement; or move the laundry to the kitchen. Damp-proofing, a fresh new paint job, ond extra lighting fixtures will make any basement much more pleasant. And new-model laundry appliances are both compact and attractive; will fit, both space-wise and appearance-wise, into the average kitchen. If this housewife's problem is yours, too, ask us about helping you with either solution you choose. We make Hom*e• Imlprovement Loans; Appliance loans -- both at low cost. • • • . AUXILIARY POWER is a phrase that describes the true nature and function of credit in this country. Credit is an extra dynamic force which, added to the initiative, ability and determination of Americans, enables businesses to prosper; individuals to enjoy, in countless ways, a richer, fuller life than the people of "any. other land. In the same terms, America's banks may be likened to powerhouses-- for they supply a major part of this very helpful credit.
