The next Ladies League meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 6, at 8 p.m. A Fine Time Was had on, Monday at Stan Wolcik's Polka Time television program held at the Civic Opera building, with beautiful Swedish costumes and dances and the polka dancers. Attending the program were Mesdames Jean Booster, Jen O'Leary, Mary Kalemba, Lyda Diedrich, Betty Weber, Marge Beahler; Alice Wade and others from the Oak Mfg. company of Crystal Lake. Addition to the Prom Having fun at the junior-senior prom at the McHenry high [school were Melvin Tushkowski | and Layne Bucher, and Jerry Smith and Grace Wiedemah. P.T.A.« Mr. and Mrs. James Buchwalter attended a McHenry County Council P.T.A. meeting at the Hebron high school last week ^hursday. New officers were in- Walled at the meeting followed by lectures and instructions on how to make the P.T.A. a successful organization. Next meeting will be on the third Thursday in October, and officers and members are invited to attend. Thursday Socials The Thursday night socials are being held at Wally's Oasis at. 8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcqme to attend. Sincere Sympathy We wish to extend our sincere sympathy to Fred Dosch and daughter, Josephine, on the recent loss of their cousin, Mrs. Jack Keane, of Barrington. 'Teen Dance Correction -- Last week's parser announced a dance for chil- %en 10 to 13 years of age, to be held June 3. The dance is for young people 13 years and older. The dance will be held on Sunday, June 3, and all 'teen-agers are welcome. ' Pre-Teens , A date will be announced in the paper for a dance to be held for children 9 to 12 years ot 0>ge in the near future. -Bridal Showers JoAnne Schuringa was the recipient of lovely gifts at a bridal shower given by Marlgne Ehrhardt at the Ehrhardt home last Thursday. At the shower were Mrs. and Miss Todd, Eiise Ehrelt, Milda Netkuns, Tommy Carmen, Roberta Wirfs, Marge Rogers, Karen and Thelma Neff, Dolores Schiavone, Flo Root, Fran Budil, Paula Krumwiede, Pat Steadman, Mrs. Wirfs, Ruth Brau, Edith Blake, Marcella Foss and Ann Brzezinski. Wedding bells will ring on June 16, when JoAnne will be come the bride of Richard Rehberg of McHenry. McHenry Bible Church Last Sunday, the McHenry Bible church held their motherdaughter tea. In all, there were about fifty enjoying a very fine program. Refreshments were served. Next Sunday the McHenry Bible church will be happy to welcome Fred Hardman. from es Plaines, a very fine musician, for--the morning-service. And on Sunday, May 2f at 8 p.m. the movie will be the "Master'2 Face." The next prayer meeaing will be held at the Beahler home on Wednesday, May 30. Wedding Bells Congratulations to Mr. and gMrs. Earl Sand on the marriage *JBf their son, Harvey, to Patricia ^Ann Justen, formerly of McHenry. The wedding took place at St. Joseph's church in Waukegan, followed by a reception at the Sea Horse club. The best man was Kirby Kelner and maid of honor Jo Ann Hughes, both of McHenry. And on Mother's Day, Mrs. Wrublewski had another party in hep=- honor at her daughter's home, Afrs-. Albert Nemes, in Bensenville. All their children and families were at the party. Mr. and Mrs. John Wrublewski are former- residents of Lakemoor and now reside in Arizona. At present, they are Spending a few weeks at the home of their son, Marty Wrublewski, and family. First Communion Louis Pogany made his First Holy Communion on Mother's Day at St. Mary's church in McHenry. Louis celebrated it at home with the family and received a brand new bicycle on this special day. At Edward (Pinky) Gureczny's Communion party were guests from Gages Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Harmon and family and Mrs. Elenore Javors and family. Guests from Chicago were Dr. and Mrs. John Belensky, Dr. and Mrs. A. J. Josephine Parratore and her family spent ^ Communion Day with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Czajkowski of Lakeland Park. It was two years since the ladies had an outing and Pat Morrison was badly missed due to her husband's bad accident. McCuliom Lake News By Eve Levesque M-Day Approaches The many hours of work and preparation that have gone into Memorial Park are about to pay off. Next Wednesday, the ' park will be dedicated with due pomp and ceremony. That wonderful organization, the American Legion, has promised us members of the drum and bugle corps and the rifle squads to perform their duties. Everyone desiring to participate in the parade is asked to. assemble at. the . beachhouse at 2:30 p.m. May 30, in uryform. An inspiring program has been planned and it should be an inspiration to all who participate and for those who come to ob: serve. The parade will begin promptly at 3 p.m. Hospital and Sick News We are sorry to report that Norman Morrison, met with a very bad accident last week Friday. He fell off a scaffold two stories down and is in serious condition at Highvvood hospital in Highwood, 111. Cards and letters of cheer would be appreciated at this time. Helen Para spent two days at Woodstock hospital for a skin graft last week. Chiper Cyrtowa went to Children's Memorial hospital last weelc TTiursday for an examination. He is doing fine and will report for another examination in June. Bobb;f Foss is off the crutches from,a fractured toe and is feeling fine. Bowling News The women's bowling team from Wally's Oasis enjoyed a fine dinner at Solon Mills last Wednesday. At the party were Mr. and Mrs. John Sulak, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cynowa, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Szarek. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Blake, Clyde Pokette and Lyda Diedrich. And an addition to their party were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Br&dy. After the dinner, the rest of the evening was spent bowling in McHenry. Piin Club The members of the fun club spent a wonderful day in Chicago last Saturday. Mesdames About Frineds and Neighbors Mrs. Myrtle Booster and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Booster and children spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Lisiek and family in Mt. Prospect. Mrs. Jenny Vallone enjoyed Mother's Day with her son, Ben Vallone. and family and friends in Chicago. Guests on Mother's Day at the Frank Harder home were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haider and family from Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tetrow and family from Lombard. On Mother's Day, Mr. and Mrs._ Joe Cammarata entertained their son, Philip Cammarata, and family and Mrs. Patsy Fascana from Chicago. Spending the weekend at Westville, Ind., were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brodin and family, visfting with Mrs. Brodin's sister. Mrs. Howard Williams went on a shopping spree on Tuesday to Chicago. Terry Brady was singing with the McHenry high school choral group in Peoria recently. Putting several more miles on their automobile last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kibbe and children. On Friday and Saturday they visited friends at Watseka and on Saturday visited relatives at Davenport, Iow%. The program will then be turned over to the entertainment committee, who have a few surprises in store. Come and see what it is all about. Help Wanted The grass at the beach is in sad need of cutting. Power mowers and rakes with manpower attached are urgently requested for Sunday morning. Tlie beach committee would like to have the park grounds cleaned up before Memorial Day^If a large enough crew shows up for work, it won't mean too much time lost from personal plans for anyone. The diving raft will be launched and anchored, too. That's 10 Sunday morning. 8 V Green Thumb Anne Passalaqua had all her gardening done at once. Her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hussak, of Northlake, 111., spent a few days with Anne while hubby, Frank, was in California on a business trip. Mrs. Hussak is the kind of gardener that pinches off a leaf, plants it, and it grows! We're trying to discover her secrets. The Passalaqua home will have that professional gardening touch all summer. Hospital Patients Mrs. Betty Houck is finally starting on the road to recovery. This gal had a plenty rough time alter her recent surgery. We hope for Betty that she will be home wifh her family soon. Eight-year-old Lynn Schulz checked into Memorial hospital ! last Friday. She has been having tests and X-rays ^ to determine J whether surgery is indicated. Her mother, Theresa, has hadher hands full, dashing back and forth to the hospital twice a day. Our prayers for an end to the pain and discomfort are with little Lynne. « Leo Sales is "champing .at the^ bit" ?nd anxious to get home. He is still confined to Memorial hospitp'. Our community isn't the same \vith all these fine people hospitalized. In spite of the ordeal of delicate eye surgery due to a fishing accident, Fobby hasn't complained f once. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gates .brought him home from Passavant hosoital, Chicago, on Saturday.
