Defendants are Sheriff Harry Herendeen, Deputy sheriff Edward Williamson, Joe Ritter, Woodstock justice of the peace, and Dr. Urban V. Comes, owner of most,of Defiance Lake, southeast of McHenry. The suit was filed by Frank and Grace Meyers, owners of a Chicago tavern and also of 350 acres of land near the lake but with only a small frontage on the lake itself; also Stanley Bock, Joseph Dubeck and D^vid Robbins. According ito the complaint, Bock, Dubek 1 and- Robbins were fishing in the lake with the Meyers' permission last April when they were arrested for trespassing. The charge was dismissed later. The plaintiffs contend the arrest was part of a plot to deny use of thg lake to the Meyers. The defendants claim that the case was dismissed when defense attorneys contended a trespassing violation must occur on land rather than water; also that the complaint was signed only against Bock.
