Their worthy opponent was Tim O'Meara's 'team from Chicago. Our team suffered their worst losses in the early innings and started to recover a bit toward the end. The game just didn't last long enough! The final score was a little too gruesome to mention.- .Bill and Bob Brennan, the Honorable Russ Lawrehce, "mayor" of Elgin, Chuck and Ken ingersol, Ray Deskis, Bud Cable, Dick Osterby, Milt Lawrence and Jake Levesque put up a valiant struggle. Joe DeMar, umpire, took his job seriously. \ After the game, both teams fraternized freely while refreshments were served by Jean Mc- i Donald. Horseshoe tournaments i were staged during the after- j noon and early evening. Good to see Tim O'Meara, considerably thinner, but feeling much better after his long seige of illness.
