Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Michael of Chicago spent June 9 and 10 with their daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peloquin. Mr. Michael had to return to his work, but Mrs. Michael stayed for the week. Mrs. Peloquin, her daughter, Janet, and Mrs. Michael took a drive to Crystal Lake Wednesday to visit some relatives and Thursday they drove to Lake Geneva for lunch and the day; Mrs. Michael will return to Chicago Sunday with Mr. Michael. More than 1,700 members attended their convention which lasted for three days. Members of the- McHenry chapter attending were the officers and advisor, who were Tom Thompson, Ed. Haack, Mark Vycital and Larry Stilling. Tom Blumhorst and Mark Zimmerman were our delegates to the conventiQn. Mr. Pictor was there with his watch dog to keep an eye on us. As usual, the convention had lecturers, some boring and some very interesting. To keep this convention in good spirits, they brought in some professional entertainment which kept the convention rolling. On Friday, the last' day, election of officers; took place. We had Dick Wissell running-for-secretary- treasurer. Dick was beat out for this office but we are all proud of him.
